M: You truly believe you can help me? Even after everything I’ve done?
Y: You wouldn’t be eating lunch with me if I didn’t believe I could.
M: My question still stands.
Y: And I gave you my answer.

I never actually explained my ideas for Yuzu interacting with Mandarin in my AU, so I feel like now would be the best time to talk about some details.
My idea for their relationship is that in my AU, Mandarin is still alive and is brought back to Shuggazoom by Yuzu herself. She conceives him to come back with her after telling him that Skeleton King is now dead and Shuggazoom is finally safe from him. I think I’ve stated it a while ago that in this AU, Skeleton King is fully defeated and is no longer a major threat to the world. The only enemies the Hyperforce now face are enemies besides Skeleton King, threats from Shuggazoom itself, and old followers of the Skeleton King scattered here and there.
Yuzu tells Mandarin that she insisted to the team that he still had to be alive after Skelemandarin was killed along with Skeleton King. She used the Power Primate to seek him out and found him imprisoned and abandoned, unaware of the changes that happened to the outside world. She explained to him that she wanted to find him and bring him back home with her, and back to Antauri. When Skelemandarin was killed, most of Hyperforce didn’t believe that Mandarin was actually still alive. Antauri themself was hesitant to believe that Mandarin was somehow still alive.
But Yuzu told her dad that she found him and that she was going to bring him back to them. Antauri was hesitant at first to let their daughter go off on this retrieval mission alone. But they knew that even they told her not to, she would be too stubborn to take no for answer and go after him anyway. So, on her own, she went searching for her bàba, not telling the rest of the team what her plan was. The team wouldn’t realize that Yuzu left on her to retrieve her bàba until Antauri had to explain to them her absence.
Mandarin at first, refused his daughter’s chance to return back to Shuggazoom. After everything he’s done to them, after everything he’s done to her, why would she be willing to give him a chance. But Yuzu explained to him that Antauri once said to him it wasn’t too late for him, that even they were willing to give him a chance to start over. She told him that having to send him away broke Antauri. They grieved for him after his imprisonment. That having to raise their daughter alone was the greatest pain they ever experienced. Yuzu tells her baba that Antauri still misses them. That she misses him even though she never met him until after he reawakened from the HOOP. She wants her bàba to be a part in her life.
Mandarin retorts that even if he agreed to come back with her, the rest of the Hyperforce won’t agree with it. But Yuzu persists, telling him that if the rest team has a problem with it, then so be it. Helping him is HER mission, not theirs. She believes that she can help him. That she and Antauri can help him. For a moment, Mandarin hesitates, but soon agrees to come back home with her. And when they return home, it’s a riot from the rest of the team. All rightful objections of anger and horror. Except from Antauri, who stood frozen in pure shock at the two’s return.
She’s known as the extroverted twin, always participating in the conversation and always willing to talk to new faces. Just like her twin and parents, she’s intelligent in both fields of science and mechanics. Compared to her parents, she’s just as energetic and cheerful as her dad, Otto. She’s not as stubborn as her other dad, Gibson.
In certain situations, she’s usually the peace keeper, always looking for a positive outlook at her own expense. Her twin, Delphinium, is usually the one to state the obvious and not beat around the bush for her. They’re always there to remind her that she shouldn’t have to force herself to constantly stay positive, especially if it’s hurting her in some way. She does know this, but she just wants to help everyone and make everyone happy the best she can. Unlike her twin, she likes going out with the others. If she and the others get up to something, she’ll instantly search for Delphinium, so that way they won’t be left out of the fun.
Her weapons are drills just like her dad, Gibson. But they’re specifically auger bit drills instead of the type of step drills that Gibson uses. And just like her twin, her intelligence is also her best weapon. If in a situation, she and Delphinium will solve the problem from behind the scenes while the others handle the fight up first.
She usually spends her time hanging out or helping the others with whatever it is they’re doing. Wether it’s playing video games, doing training exercises or helping to repair something, she’s down for almost about anything. When is she by herself, she mostly practices her roller skating by zipping around Shuggazoom.

Meet Delphinium! (they/them)
They’re known as the introverted twin, mostly comfortable speaking to those close in their family circle. Just like their parents, their intelligent in both fields of science and mechanics. Compared to their parents, they’re not as publicly stubborn as their dad, Gibson. But they’re also not as publicly excited or energetic as their other dad, Otto.
They usually let their twin, Turquoise, express their emotions for them while out in public. They usually display their stronger emotions behind close doors, with the safety of their family and away from prying eyes. They’re not a fan of cramped spaces, especially when there are unknown figures in the room. They tend to spend most of their time inside, only going out when Turquoise and the others drag them along.
Their weapons are energy saws just like Ottos. So, most of their attacks will be just like their dad’s attacks. Besides physical weapons, their intelligence helps as their best weapon. With help from Turquoise, the two of them help the team figure out how to solve problems from behind the scenes.
Both Delphinium and Turquoise were born around the time after the Skeleton King was defeated. (s5 showdown ideas for this timeline) Most of the things they known about Skeleton King and everything else that happened, were told to them in stories from their parents and other family members.
While spending time to themselves, they usually read and listening to music. They took an old cassette player and converted it, so that way the music can be connected to their audio receptors, that way they won’t have to wear headphones to listen to their music. They like to collect old cassette types and even convert newer forms of music into cassette types to listen to. They also have a talent for playing instruments, but they love playing the dreams the most. Turquoise helped them construct their very own drum set that’s their size.
She’s confident and knows how to hold her head up high. She has a bit of temper, but she doesn’t let that stop her from protecting her family or others. She genuinely cares for her family and wants to do everything she can to protect them. But even though she’s confident, she still has her fears. Her greatest fear is somehow ending up like her bàba, Mandarin, or anyone else of her family falling down the same path as he did.
She was born after her bāba was exiled and imprisoned. Her dad, Antauri, told her of her bāba’s existence and his downfall when she was old enough to understand. Of being told of her bàba, she wants to make sure she does everything she can to not end up like him. She did question what her bàba would think of her if he was still part of the team. But like the others, she wasn’t too pleased to meet him for the first time when he made his return back to Shuggazoom.
Like her dad, she uses her own kind of Claw Disrupter. She can use levitation like both of her parents to pick things up and move others. And like both of her parents, she uses Monkey Mind Scream. She even uses her own non-built in weapon like her bàba, that being a retractable staff.
She’s a fan of clothes and fashion. She dresses herself in a yellow jacket with a fluffy, cotton collar. She dresses up occasionally, but she mainly wears her jacket in case there’s a fight about to happen.
