Glad to see someone else was disappointed with this book. What really bothered me was how Erik was made to be the antagonist and was not a sympathetic character. And there was no redeemable qualities to him either. Besides how creepy it was that he wanted Christine even though he had a relationship with her mother, you would think he’d jump at the chance to teach Christine illusions and singing, but no he thinks a woman shouldn’t do it. Erik is just so OOC in this book. Like really bias much?
Yes, yes exactly this! He acted like Christine was a massive burden one minute, but then the next was making googoo eyes at her! The author clearly had no idea what path she wanted to follow! And it shows for a lot of the book! She would propose one idea and then turn around and change her mind about it pages later it was wildly infuriating!
