If u heart Alvvays, YumiZouma, TTTOPSSS then slide over to The Prids.
I have been a huge fan of Mistina La Fave and David Frederickson and their 20 yr+ band The Prids (based in Portland) ever since I first heard them about 9 or so years ago, and so when I reached out to them for FFE volume 1, I was over the moon when they sent me this awesome track off their new album! http://friendsforequality.bandcamp.com/…/the-prids-summer-c… I then learned about their various side projects (We Miss the Earth & Leading Psychics) and fell in love with those as well. They are also wonderful people. Mistina contributed to issue 1 of the zine and sent me those awesome pins that some of you may have bought that I sold to raise money for various orgs. I also made stickers with them too and will be selling her pins and stickers again, along with the zine at our August 5th benefit show for Nationz Foundation. Leading Psychics donated a track for both volume 1 & 2 and We Miss the Earth did for volume 2. If you love the idea of shoegaze mixed with post-punk and noise rock with a dash of both 80s and 90s rock and new wave/no wave mixed in, then you will love them!
