BTV has reassured viewers that Inspector Spacetime’s future is secure,
yet they won’t explain how the programme will keep going if Warner Bros. cancels their agreement to fund and distribute IS. (At least until after Season 2 is released.)
BTV Studios CEO Harry Leclair said the future of the programme is virtually guaranteed, despite the uncertain future of the partnership with Warner Bros. World Plus.
‘We’re very committed to Inspector Spacetime. We will continue to press forward in all matters related to the programme, including its upcoming appearance at New York Comic Con. Marketing plans new merchandise and plans are moving forward, even as we continue to negotiate with Warner.’
No matter how much fans clamour for it,
there’s very little chance that Chris Obi will return as the Inspector,
at least as a regular ... though he probably will for the big anniversary specials.
