Anyone who sees the Circuit Chapsâ hive mind as an improvement to humanity
always ends up regretting that belief.
Whereas a few of the Inspectorâs earlier incarnations were prone to licking objects to get information,
the 13th Inspector simply ate a handful of leaves to determine when and where theyâd landed.
In the Classic Series, the Inspector repeatedly claimed that humans werenât allowed on Kayaclasch,
even though, time and again, they brought their Associates to Infinity Knight headquarters without explanation.
Surprisingly for a British TV programme, Inspector Spacetime has only taken cues from Shakespeareâs catalogue only once:
the Fourth Inspector serial âMoon of Goodnessâ was based upon the Bardâs Titus Andronicus.
The scriptwriters seem to have a love for âAliensâ,
as they have not only copied the filmâs plot, parodied it, and called it out by name more than five times throughout its run.
The programme usually names locations throughout the UK if theyâre relevant to the story.
But, if the plot needs a spooky, uncanny village for the protagonists to visit, the names are usually something obviously unreal, such as Lower Authursville.
The Spacetime Tunnel allows a BOOTH to travel virtually anywhere and anywhen almost instantaneously,
unless, of course, one encounters one of the monstrosities that inhabit the hyperspace lane, which could destroy anything passing through it.
If the Tenth Inspector hadnât had to destroy the optic pencil in order to break down a sealed door in âCo-Workers in Lawâ,
imagine the things they could have done with that device, considering it did things the optic pocketknife never could do.
Why is it that so many brilliant devices turn up only once in the programme, never to be seen or heard of again?
Like the defence satellite that destroyed the Caliban ship in âThe Hanukkah Exodusâ.
If Brooke Rhapsody had been brainwashed into hunting down and killing the Inspector,
how was she able to break the psychological programming in order to avert the Inspectorâs death?
If a machine doesnât have a port that accepts the optic pocketknife,
the Inspector will make one to fit it.
An internal memo from Amblin Studios shows that discussions for a crossover episode between Galaxy Quest and Inspector Spacetime had been in discussion,
but the uncertain future of both franchises means it may not happen after all.
For the first time in 61 years, there is no Inspector Spacetime or Galaxy Quest in production.
A sad, sad day in the world of science fiction.
Considering that the Tenth Inspector once pointed out that they have to shave to keep their face so clean,
it was rather jarring to see the same face on the Fourteenth Inspector, except with stubble as if theyâd lost their razor a few days before.
Joanna Martin didnât have the time or the necessities to clean herself up during the Un-Year in âFirst of the Infinity Knightsâ,
because it wouldâve been just plain insulting to viewers if she looked like sheâd just walked out of a spa while the world around her was in disarray.
The Gap, first mentioned in âRagnarökâ, is never seen in the series.
The Inspector describes it as a dimension that has no measurements, no direction, no physicality, just a gap in reality.
Both Rachelle D. Tavies and Lyman Spong only gave brief glimpses into the Time Wave throughout their initial runs as show runner, claiming it was âtoo weird to put on screenâ,
only to put it on full display in the 50th Anniversary Special.
