At what point of the story did you notice the connection between them?
In the books, as soon as Khal Drogo was dead, I begin thinking that it was a possibility - so it’s been in the back of mind for a long time, even if it wasn’t something I shipped in earnest until Season 5 of the show.
What is your favourite parallel?
That they are both searching for a place that they belong. (There are a lot of good ones - some more heroic than others - but for me, at the core of it all, they’re both two lost kids who never quite had a place in the world and are searching for a family that is irrevocably theirs.)
Your favourite quote from the books foreshadowing Jonerys?
His face remained a shifting shadow. That one.
Whose POV do you want the meeting to be in the books?
Dany’s POV. Because I think Jon will mull over his initial reactions to her for chapters to come, but her first impressions will be priceless.
Favorite scene so far? Both scenes in the map room at Dragonstone - Jon refusing to be ordered to not go on the wight hunt and Jon convincing Dany about how they should travel to Winterfell. They both do so much to establish their dynamic, and they don’t cheat us out of a first kiss.
Wedding after the war or sooner?
Both. They have an impromptu wedding in a godswood on the way to Winterfell, with only Bran to witness it (and he isn’t even properly there). Then they have to have a more official do over with pomp and circumstance later.
Fluff or smut?
Smut. All the smut.
Which character ships Jonerys the most in your opinion?
Drogon, obviously. Which is good because he makes his opinions know very emphatically.
Where do you want another sex scene?
Not picky on the location, but I want a ‘can’t keep our hands off each other’ sex scene ASAP.
When did Dany fall in love in your opinion?
I think it was the moment that Dany and Drogon arrived to save that ill-conceived wight hunting party. She’d tamped down her feelings, and denied them, but - when it came down to it - saving Jon, and Jon specifically, was more important than waging war (on the Night King), claiming the throne, or proving the existence of wights at all. It’s all there in the desperate stretch of her hand towards his.
When did Jon?
Look, Jon’s been trapped in a penal colony on the edge of the world for years. When he arrived at Dragonstone, he probably never felt more like the Bastard of Winterfell since he joined the Watch. And there’s Daenerys - a princess by birth, beautiful and fierce, stubborn and proud. She’s conquered half the world and hatched dragons and raised armies. So he fell for her the second that she begin to bend - when she believed him enough to mine the dragon glass - and all he could hope to do was try to hold on.
Ruling as Targaryens, or joined Houses Stark and Targaryen?
Neither. They disappear to a house with a red door, with lemon trees in the garden, and fade into legend. (Which contradicts some of what I said before. But... it’s better than being completely catty about fickle Northern Lords.)
