A couple of weeks ago I was fortunate to have eco-activist, Zoë Tryon, as a guest on my show, Journey to the Goddess TV (on YouTube). And speaking live from the Amazon, no less!

Sketch Daily: 2066 - The Rain forest

Deep in the heart of the Amazon rainforest is a tree that grows in the middle of a clearing. It is small compared to the trees that surround it, barely reaching halfway up to the canopy, but there are always birds roosting in its branches, and monkeys, lizards, snakes, jaguars, and all kinds of other animals resting on the soft ground at its feet, peacefully cohabiting as if they had an unspoken rule that this is a place of sanctuary from the brutality of the jungle. At the heart of the tree is a single fresh coriander plant that grows in a hollow filled with soil. Nobody knows how the fresh coriander plant is able to survive in a climate so unsuited to fresh coriander growth, but year upon year it thrives without any apparent need for sunlight or water. An explorer once tried to take the fresh coriander plant from the tree, determined to sell it for a high price back in England, but that night his assistant, upon hearing a low growling sound followed by a scream coming from the explorer's tent, rushed outside to find the tent ransacked as if by a wild animal and the explorer gone, along with all of the spoils he had taken from the rainforest. The fresh coriander plant was lying on his torn-up pillow, and the assistant, under a sudden compulsion, returned the fresh coriander plant to the tree it had come from, and caught the boat back to England that same day. No-one since has ventured into the clearing with the tree that holds the fresh coriander plant, but it still resides there in its hollow, deep in the heart of the forest.
