Omo Writing Advice - The Release
So, your character made it ot a toilet, outside, or has a container, anything that prevents them from wetting, but how do you write the actual act of them… peeing?
I admit, that is a hard one. I have let myself inspired from others writers a lot, but I often see a lot of writers struggling with it and some of them even prefer to skip it altogether. A shame, really, release scenes are so much fun.
First, take the personality of your character in account. If they are peeshy, you will want to look at the peeshy post first, because they probably need a while to get going. If they aren’t peeshy, then they will go right away.
It also depends on what junk your character has. For inclusivity and to prevent saying naughty words, I will simply refer to them as AMAB and AFAB.
AMAB can pee standing up, which makes going outside easier for them. AFAB normally have to squat and when they have a vessel, it needs to be pretty big or they need to have a good idea of how to press it against them.
Ok, but now to the actual description. I normally take three things in account.
1) How does it look like?
2) How does it feel like?
3) How does it sound like?
Of course we also have smell, but I would advise to only use this when your character is very aware about that they just have done something dirty. Pee always smells the same, a kinda acidic ammoniac. Most people won’t really notice the smell.
EDIT: It has been brought to my attention, that my advice about smell was inaccurate. I based it mostly of experiences with myself, so please excuse this blunder. Apparently pee can smell differently depending on the diet of the person, like a lot of sugar can make it smell more sweet and caffeine can change the smell as well. I admit that I don’t know much about this and would advice to research it when you want to write smell in your fic. Most of the time, the smell won’t be too much of a thing though, I more focus on sight and sound.
For the sight, you need to take in account that they have hold for a while. How does it come out? What kind of desperate peer are they? Does it come out just in a straight and thick stream? Do they maybe let loose a few strong spurts? It can happen that a desperate stream suddenly seems to cut off only to start again and be a strong as before. It can also be slow, especiall with peeshy character. Even though the are bursting, it could be they are so locked up that the stream only comes out slowly and it takes them a long time to finish. With words you can put all the creativity with water in it. A stream is clear, but how is the stream? Thick? Abundant? Rich? Or maybe it sprays in all directions?
Ok, now the feel. That is how your character feels about the whole thing. Most characters probably will feel very relieved about it. They may sigh, or swear about being able to finally go or just let themselves hang while it pours out of them. Pour, that is a word that I love to use. They may concentrate on the fact that their bladder finally is emptying or they may be overly embarrassed about the fact that they pee at a wrong place. If another character is there, they may comment on them and their desperation, especially when character insisted they didn’t had to go very bad. In short, the feel is about how your character feels about the whole issue. They can sigh in relief or have pee shudders or even cry because it feels so good to relieve themselves.
Sound! That one is so much fun! Judging about where your character pees, the sounds will differ. In a toilet it simply will be water on water, but on the ground? How does it sound when it hits earthy ground? How does it sound when it is sand? Grass? How does it sound when they pee against a tree? In a vessel? It sounds different when they pee into a bottle or a vase. And in a vessel, you may have to make sure, that it starts to sound like water hitting water once it fills up. I wish the english language had a better word for water hitting water, we should invent one.
Eventually they will be done of course, but how long should it take them? When you are about realism, desperate humans normally pee around 30 seconds up to 90 seconds. I think I have also heard about 120 seconds, but that sounds pretty extreme. So any human characters probably will be done after this time. It might feel a lot longer for them though.
For any non human characters, monsters for example or beasts or vampires or any human that is kind of enhanced, feel free to go wild. It could very well be that their bladder capacity is far larger and while there is some video around that any animal voids for the same period of time, that’s boring. If you want for your monster character to piss five minutes straight, go for it.
Once their release ends, it normally won’t be just abrubtly stopping, though that can happen. But mostly the stream is tapering off and they will drip a little. It can only happen that something still comes out after a few seconds, bladders are weird. After they are done, they will want to clean up, dress up and feel a LOT better. They can also feel a whole lot embarassed when they had to pee in a vessel for example. Don’t forget that pee is warm and when they grab a bottle for example, they may cringe at how warm it feels.
With another character in the mix, you can throw in some teasing or comfort, whatever floats your boat. This is also a good part to end the fic.
Do you have any more questions? Feel free to ask, my inbox is open. Also feel free to tack on your own takes on release scenes on. I am only one writer and I am sure I can learn a lot.
Also, if you all ask nicely, I will share my favourite release scenes I have written ^^

10 days left...
Oh my God, guys... Only 10 days left until the game comes out and you all find out my not-co-closely guarded secrets...
Who the secret RO is, what’s up with the Soul Stones, how the romances progress, THE WHOLE DAMN THING!😱 I’m not sure if I’m really to deal with the game actually being out shkfgkgvkgjkgvjklgfsd
I’ve kept myself busy until now—mostly Patreon stuff, plus finishing a story for a competititon. In this month’s Patreon, I wrote a Morkai sidestory, plus a small IF story featuring the MS poly! And I also uploaded the portrait of Bain, courtecy of the amazing shepofships.
Now with Bain’s portrait done, I have up to this point shown the portraits of the main gang, Manerkol, and also Marco, the bounty hunter from the beginning, Dorlas, and Bain! I also want to commission one for Tristen, and then that’s it for the known characters, every other portrait that comes out is from characters not yet seen! Just in time for the release🤪
But now I am left without any deadlines, unless of course you count my mounting excitement to start writing book 2 a deadline😂 So I have no idea what to do to make these last ten days pass....
Weeeee😵😵😵
Wish me luck🤣
