Sam getting treated as the bad guy for leaving home (regardless of which instance) is so crazy when you consider that John was always leaving the boys alone and Dean was constantly leaving Sam alone. They really said "we should be able to come and go as we please and stay gone as long as we want, but how dare you not be here when we decide to come back."
