I would like some advice
So, I'm playing in a new game of 5e and I convinced my DM to allow me to use the Runescribe. Originally, I had planned to play a Rune Knight, so my character is currently a level 2 fighter. After looking things over, I'm now planning on him going Eldritch Knight into Rune Scribe because of the synergy with spell slots. But I'm wondering if maybe I should multiclass into wizard after I finish my Rune Scribe levels. What do you guys think? We have a Barbarian and a Paladin, so melee is covered and a bit more utility would be useful. But is it worth it to even bother with Eldritch Knight? Should I just go straight Wizard? Should I forget Wizard, focus on the utility I'd already have and go straight fighter? I'm having some decisiveness problems.
Edited to add:
Also, I'm a big fan of the concept behind the Rune Scribe. I think it captures some aspects of the runes really well, although obviously it has its issues. I'm going to do a write up on it this week for Rune: Fact but mostly Fiction. Personally, I find the Rune Knight to be... disappointing in comparison.
