tried to make alastor's design a little more appealing to me without throwing the whole thing out like ive done with previous redesigns
i realized once I was done that the alastor image i was using for reference (pictured above, middle) isnt his actual final design from the show but i dont think the red fingertips add anything so I likely would have scrapped them anyway
i changed the lighter red of his undershirt to yellow because i noticed the only part of him that has yellow in his og design is his teeth, which I suppose is to draw attention to them, but I still dont like it. maybe if instead of the white outer stripe on his lapel theyd added yellow there it wouldve felt less out of place. I didnt even include the lapel stripe in my design because I always thought it was a random change from his pilot design (where he didnt have the stripe). I kept the weird cross thing in his undershirt because, even though I have no clue what its really meant to be, I actually think its kind of cool looking. Gave him spats to keep similar to the different colors on his lower legs/feet, but made them the same color as his undershirt so all his limbs have that lighter yellow right before black end points
I also changed his hair and ears quite a bit. I dont really like the pinker hue they chose for his red in general. At first I tried to go similar to how his hair is colored, with the main color being red and the accents black but I thought it looked odd so I swapped it around and I much prefer him with black hair and the red accent. Also made his horns bigger because theyre barely even noticable. That might be for animation purposes but its still weird looking. also gave him a deer tail because its cute
I also changed his microphone design. Im pretty sure I gave him a microphone like that in my previous redesign. Its specifically based on this. I mostly changed it because I thought it looked cooler and the sort of 4 pointed star look gives off more demon vibes to me, for some reason? Originally i had the outline silver like the one I based it on but I figured since I was incorporating more yellow/gold into his design I may as well make it that color as well
