Art Gallery & Mean Girl Crystal

📍Vancouver Art Gallery - Exterior & Rotunda, 750 Hornby St., Vancouver

Location bts:

I consider the Vancouver Art Gallery exterior to be the most recognizable location in this project. It is positioned in the centre of Downtown Vancouver and quite prominent in the area. The front features a pair of granite lions and the original neoclassical facade.

The Gallery was easy to spot, but the building shots are filmed from a crane/drone so getting a frame lined up was impossible. Instead we have Seth and Maddy with the Rosewood Hotel Georgia in the background. Also of interest, the statue in front of the gallery in the show doesn't exist.

The interior first floor rotunda area is sometimes called the Void stairs. The area showcases the exhibiting artist- these photos are of "(once we have torn shit down, we will inevitably see more and see differently and feel a new sense of wanting and being and becoming)" by Firelei Báez

security guard n Mystery KidTM shit

The security guard’s real name is Rhody, though she hasn’t gone by that name in a long time. She lurks in between the different main areas throughout the Maw but mainly around the Prison and the Lair. Her eyes work like the security eyes only they just stun instead of turning who she looked at to stone. She has a harness with tons of little cages attached to it for the kids she catches, if I could compare to anything it’s something like the Big Sister from BioShock. Thanks to carrying all those cages and from crouching over kids so much (like in that drawing) she has a huge hunch in her spine. Also, in order to not stun every kid she looks at she keeps the hat tilted over her eyes most of the time.

The only Maw employees (not counting the Lady/Governess) she’s has interaction with are the Janitor (common interaction) and the Ferryman (limited interaction) 

Mystery kid’s real name is Phoebe. She’s been on the Maw long enough (she’s a young teen at this point) to become used to it and has started to believe it’s better than the surface.She’s adapted a rather bitter and creepy attitude from being around the Maw’s employees for so long, but she’s somewhat hostile towards them despite this. She still is a kid, only this kid has fish hooks and makeshift knives that she looses way too easily. She also refuses to eat the meat, she’s only eaten it once out of desperation and immediately threw up afterwards. Phoebe is appears apathetic and has acted that way for so long she can’t tell if it’s an actual personality trait now or if she’s still playing a role to get by.
