Theory about use of Feruchemy on Threnody.

On Threnody, one cannot spill the blood of another (visibly, at least) because that enrages the shades.

What if a Feruchemist used Aluminum to store all of their identity away? The Feruchemist then has no identity left. Then, when the no-ID Feruchemist attacks someone and draws blood, well, the victim is attacked by "no one." "Nobody" drew blood. Fly under the Shades' radar, Odysseus-style.

Identity Feruchemy could be used other ways, too. Say, for example, a surgery needs to be performed. Drain the identity of both the surgeon and the patient, then they both share the identity of "nobody". They are practically identical. That will fly under the Shades' radar, because Shades are triggered specifically by a person drawing the blood of another; a person spilling one's "own" blood has no effect on shades.

Going by "do not draw the blood of another" rule, there are a lot of things that have to be do-it-yourself on Threnody:

Minor surgery, such as stitches

Or cauterizing wounds

Re-dressing any wounds

Any kind of shots

Piercings

Tattoos

Squeezing pimples

It is possible to go around the rule by covering up the blood so the Shades can't see it, but... what about major surgery? How about childbirth? How do they handle cutting the umbilical cord? Does anyone dare to become a midwife or a surgeon?

Editing to add: I also just realized that men in Threnody probably don't do circumcision, because that would be D-I-Y, too.

Rule#14: It Takes 12 weeks to get a Perfect Body

      Ok, it's summer time and I have to admit I have been on the sluggish side of things and have not been consistent with a workout. Well, it takes 12 straight long weeks to develop a perfect body or at least get to a figure you can appreciate. Remember, working out is like a job. In order to achieve the benefits you want like dental, health, tuition reimbursement you have to stick to the company for at least 90 days, or 12 weeks (3 months people!).

Anyways, developing a great workout routine to maintain for the rest of your life is good you, and for the soul. And also, just because your 12 week routine is up that doesn't mean stop working out. You have to keep doing it to maintain. All the years of soccer and boxing I have learned its hard to get in shape, but easy to maintain it once you are there. So for my fellow couch potatoes get up and do something now. Stick with it. Even when you stop working out everyday, as long as you work out every 2 days you can still be in shape. My college soccer coach told me that you lose fitness every 3 days so just make sure by that 3rd day your butt is on the treadmill and everything will be good.

Rule #13: Learn how to Dance

If you don't already know how, it's best to learn. And if you do know how to dance try learning something new. If you know how to dance to the top 40 that's great! By all means shake what your mama gave you! But if you don't know how to waltz, tango, or east/west coast swing join a class. They aren't that expensive especially with a membership. You will bring your dancing game to another level. I mean not only will you be able to get down and dirty with the kids down the block but you will be able to show an elegance and style with even the most fanciest of people. Rule #12: Love With All Your Heart

Love with all your heart. I know this world can be cruel. Just on nature alone so many disasters have happened and destroyed so many lives, but we can't control that. I know there are people in this world that can make our lives miserable as well, but you got to love them too. It's not easy to wear your heart on your sleeves letting the forces of the outside affect it so much that it begins to tear at the seems. The only thing you can do is have a little faith, trust and hope, and that will be enough to get you through to the next day. So love and love hard...always.
