Hazel Pierce never knew much about her grandfather, a famous airplane stuntman and local legend called Absalom Pierce. He passed away several years ago. Hazel’s father recently passed away as well and her surprise, her father left in his will an entire airport he inherited from Absalom. It’s in Nevada in a place called Silver City.
The airport is mostly abandoned with a rundown terminal and an Excello flying school on the property. Things are looking up: a casino is opening up in Silver City and the town wants the airport to reopen to accept passengers once again. Many investors had come to Silver City and invested in its projects to revitalize the area.
A year later and many repairs, the Silver City airport reopens and the first flights have arrived.
But not all is well as darkening clouds come over the airport. Incoming passengers have reported seeing a ghostly sight, an old 1930s mail plane flying near the airport.
Rumor spreads that it’s the old plane that Absalom Pierce flew in its heyday. Is he and his aircraft haunting the renovated airport and responsible for the work accidents happening?
Hazel Pierce has her hands full as the casino owner, Oscar Appleton, is making a play to take over the airport for himself with help from funding from investors.
Hazel is in search of her father's will which too has disappeared. Old airport pilots still remember crazy Absalom who used to go on that "if you follow the arrows", it would lead to his treasure, no one knowing exactly what he was talking about.
Richard Girard, the father of disgraced socialite Lori Girard, is one of the town’s investors and is concerned with the latest happenings. He has called up Nancy to fly out and investigate.
Can Nancy help Hazel and her airport crew to get to the bottom of the ghostly plane apparition? Where do the arrows built out in the desert lead to?
Absalom Pierce left behind a trail of clues that are scattered across the old airfield and it will be up to Nancy to take flight with the mystery…or to go down like a crashing plane…
