Insomnia question for the music nerds out there: is a band still a "local band" if they moved away from the city in which they started?
For example: a band gets its start in Minneapolis. But then they move to Phoenix. Should they still be filed under "local band" at a Minneapolis record store? Or are they now only a "local band" in Phoenix? If that band is no longer active, but they put out 3 out of 5 of their records in Minneapolis, are they now back to being a "Minneapolis band," from an archival standpoint? Even if they didn't end their career there?
Follow-up question: what if the band was a "local band" to a place, but they then ended up putting out a whole song about how they didn't like it there. Is there some sort of Local Band Excommunication Process?
Look, it's 1:23 AM and taxonomy is really important to me, okay?
