SUMMIT COUNTY, CO
we had some more friends heading up for the weekend so we figured it was the perfect time to cook up some bum bread. a true delicacy, cooked in a coffee can. we’d been joking about it for a while and we were out of bread, so we mixed up a batch and threw it in the oven, not realizing the can didn’t fit in the oven until it was too late. we put it in anyway on it’s side, and kept rotating it every 10 min. our minds were blown when it came out perfectly and tasted great

Friends Trevor and Maddie have been living and working aboard a sailboat for some time now taking occasional truck camping trips inland in seek of solitude and creative inspiration. They’ve worked hard on a cookbook and believe that good organic food and preparation does not have to be fancy or expensive. Check out their kickstarter above and give them some support.
The Tiny Mess is a book of recipes and photos about small homes, their even smaller kitchens, and the people who cook in them.
From buses and tree houses to sailboats, off-the-grid mountain cabins, converted rail cars, and the refrigerator of dumpster-diving urban freegans, The Tiny Mess is alive with the story of people, the meals they love, and the anything-but-ordinary places they cook in. It is a collection of tasty and unique recipes, personal stories from the cooks themselves, storage solutions, illustrations, and photos of everything in-between.
