When the teams for this year's art fight got revealed, I got the inspiration to draw a masquerade ball piece using the teams for costume ideas. So I once again scoured art fight (and my following list) for some guests who were free to attend this party.

I had so many FLondons bookmarked for this years art fight and then I did only these three pieces. and one of them is an AU. OTL

I did actually have 4 more FLondon's roughly sketched out, but last night I sat down to do art fight and found that I had no energy left, I wanted to draw my own boy again instead and focus on Estival. so tosses those sketches to the wind I guess. Remember everyone, the most important aspect of Art Fight is to have fun. If you're not having fun, you can just stop!!!

my actual original plan for art fight this year was to do a lot of LF players PCs with Edward and upload them just with edward removed on AF and then show off the real ones on tumblr or whatever, but just... have all these LF PCs looking like they're going crazy with nothing in the room.

but then I did this one for shazz and was just like lol lmao nope i'm immediately done with that level of extra work.

Moth has shared a couple songs for Clarence and Atropos with me and THEY'RE SO GOOD, I've been listening to them so much and anyway this happened thinking about them dancing and how even when they're both out of their comfort zone and flailing they end up glad for the time they spent together...

Finishes an old sketch from months ago in honour of Once-Dashing Smuggler returning for the feast!

Whenever Atropos visits (read: is banished to) the Tomb Colonies I always imagine him meeting them at the docks. Nice romantic jump into his arms uwu so that they can go spend the rest of exile doing the sort of things that got Atropos sent there in the first place owo

Suppose I should draw him in his new look next...I do appreciate that he dressed up for his return. No longer shirtless and wearing dirty bandages...Glad he made the effort!

Ballets the Typical Composer Has Written (An Uncomprehensive List):

Tomb Colony Ballet: The first ballet they composed, a very scandalous one where the costumes were scantily clad and some of the dancers were tomb colonists. Critics called it grotesque, but the composer stood steadfast in their stance that all bodies, including those decaying, had a place in dance. The plot was perishingly romantic.

Famous Sexy Tiger Ballet: ran for several months to the point where London was sick of Tiger Ballets. Presented the Court of the Wakeful Eye in a very pleasant light, if not an extremely salacious one.

A Ballet About the Zee: An experimental ballet about a captain, telling the story of a typical zee voyage. Famously invoked a technique where the costume artist literally doused the entire cast in real zee water to make them look soaking wet (which also made most costumes translucent). It included a Fathomking pas de deux, a zee bat waltz, and a giant tentacle monster puppet. It was highly indecent and very well received.

Sexier Tiger Ballet: A special performance that took place during the Coilheart Games and was invite only. The details of the performance are veiled in mystery but sources willing to speak on it claim they had convinced actual tigers visiting for the games to perform in the ballet and there was markedly less clothing than the composer's normal ballets...And also less subtext.

A Coilheart Ballet: In the wake of the Coilheart games, a ballet telling a story of cats and snakes in a decidedly less flattering form than previous tiger ballets. A tragedy and a love story. Utilised a huge snake-tiger puppet. Caused the Composer some political grief but they've recovered with more normal sexy tiger ballets hence.

The Devil Ballet: The Typical composer's first foray into burning devil dance. Controversial in how dangerous it was for the dancers and also for its unpopular political depictions of Hell, portraying it in such a light that many theorised it to be devil propaganda. More subdued than most of the Composer's work and more story focused, detailing the tale of a young woman falling in love with a devil and being introduced to devil culture through varieties of hellish dance, ultimately giving up her soul and being abandoned by him. All the dancers wore masks and the crowd left weeping blood.

The Sacrament of False Summer: The only ballet with a definitive name cause I was making a funny ballet joke to myself. A ballet written during the period where Hell was missing which utilised the flux London was in as part of the choreography. The set pieces were often shifting and morphing, costumes flickered between colourless and uncomfortably saturated, dancers disappeared off stage mid-step. Fully clothed and not at all titillating. Seemingly depicted a Fourth City ritual ending in ceremonial sacrifice. Ended in a riot from the crowd. Could not have been written by someone doing mentally well.

A Rat Ballet: A saccharine love story in the wake of the Composer's marriage with (and subsequent separation from) the Prince of All Rats. The first known instance of rats performing in a ballet, utilising a specially designed tiered stage to keep any tails from being stepped on. Demonstrating what is presented as a tale from rat history, but could not possibly be as it is a fantastical adventure the likes of which are beyond reason. The least reality-focused ballet the composer had ever written. More romantic than seductive (although that second act pas de deux...Positively scandalous). Had the prettiest costumes yet.
