She didn't remember how her clothes had disappeared, but it didn't matter and was even appreciated — at that moment it only mattered to merge their bodies into one. She spread her legs, giving him space and permission to make way for him. He reached between them, bringing his hands to her breasts to squeeze them hard, making her whimper and then sliding them down her belly. Then he put them on her thighs, spreading them even wider and kissing her belly all the way down to her crotch, putting his right hand on her thigh to keep it open all the way and using the other to put her other leg over his shoulder.
She knew her dreams were strange and repetitive, always dreaming of a dark, male silhouette slowly emerging from the darkest corner of her bedroom at night to make her his, but she wouldn't complain about such a thing. It felt good, and sometimes it felt so real that she thought succubi existed and that one visited her at night. The only lights in the place were the red button of an extension cord and the light of the laptop indicating that it was being charged, but it was enough to see him appear, approaching her to climb up her bed.
As soon as he got down to work she began to moan, embarrassed as ever at the sounds escaping from all her lips as she clutched at his head, feeling his long hair between her fingers as he dragged his tongue from her wet hole to her clit, and as always both she and he knew for certain that she wouldn't last long. She was so easy to please.
Unconsciously her hips bucked against his mouth and nose, and her body began to tremble as he thrust his tongue into her. She found it hard not to writhe in pleasure, and he could tell he was about to make her climax by her increasingly high-pitched, uncontrollable moans, which grew louder as she clung even tighter to him. Still he continued to plunge his tongue into her hole, flicking it in and out a couple of times before moving up to sucking on her clit. She was already more moan than person, whimpering stretching his long hair as she felt herself on the verge.
She couldn't help but let out a moan as she suddenly noticed him pull away, rising up as he inserted his index and middle finger where his tongue used to be. He didn't have to do much to make her cum, just move his fingers back and forth rapidly for a few seconds. When the moment came she held tightly to the pillow behind her neck as she screamed.
After that she noticed him pulling his fingers out from her and the mattress sinking to her sides as he put his hands to climb on top of her. She also noticed him settling back down to stand between her legs again, and she cooperated by wrapping her legs around his back as she caught her breath.
There was never a sound from him, and she could tell that not even his chest was uneasy from any possible labored breathing as she put her hands on his shoulders or wrapped her arms around his back, feeling his bare chest against her. She chalked it up to missing that detail because her brain was too busy realistically imagining other things.
And she thought the same of his physical appearance — totally dark, with only a few small white dots like eyes that watched her without blinking. She felt he could even see her soul, but she didn't care and even dared to put her hands on his cheeks to pull him closer to her and kiss him with tongue, trying to appease her need to feel him inside her while he brought his dominant hand to his member to rub his wet tip against her entrance in the same state.
As she felt him make his way inside her unceremoniously she moaned, the pleasure palpable in the sounds escaping her mouth as she clamped down on him as she felt him enter her fully. She was used to him going straight to the point when it came to penetrating her with his cock. He grabbed her too, wrapping his muscular arms around her and ramming his hips into her, thrusting back and forth endlessly and making the sound of their skins colliding, as well as her wetness and the moaning nonsense she said, begging for more between cries as she felt her second orgasm forming in her lower abdomen, wanting it to come all the way down to her crotch again.
She wept and writhed uncontrollably as her second orgasm hit her, tensing and arching her back, but he held her tightly to keep her from slipping out of him, feeling her throbbing insides clinging to his member. At the same time he gave one last thrust, rougher than the previous ones, to stop short and fill her with his seed as she caught her breath again, her mind now even more clouded by the sum of the orgasms. What made that mental fog lift a little was to feel him grab her cheeks with one hand to kiss her again as he pulled his member out of her.
"Dream of me, only me," he said, his voice wrapped in an eerie echo before he pulled away from her and disappeared.
Total eclipse of the heart || (Bob Reynolds x Polaris au! reader x The Void)
Summary: The team has decided that Bob should take a break for a while after what happened, in a house away from everything. To that end, they've taken turns watching him, but Bob only seems to like Y/N's company.
Author's note: This is Part IV of the Thunderbolts series I'm writing with Bob. I need more stories with him, but I'm sure there will be more when the movie comes out, so we'll have to wait and see.
Content warnings: fluff, light angst, void being obssesed with reader, Bob being a sweetheart, void catching feelings, polaris au! reader.

Bob opens his eyes suddenly.
His gaze meets the window overlooking the house's balcony, which he often frequents when he can't sleep. Then, he sits up in bed and rubs his eyes with his hands to remove the traces of sleep and pull the sheets off his body. His bare feet touched the carpeted floor and he moved out of the room, heading down the stairs.
The team had decided to take him far away from New York City and the memories of all the mess he—or rather, his other evil entity—had caused. Bob had agreed to the idea of getting away for a while and trying to clear his head. The only condition was that once a week, a member of the group would check on him to see if everything was okay.
So far, Yelena and Bucky had already gone to see him. So, thinking about the fact that Y/N could be arriving soon made Bob feel calm and at the same time nervous about seeing her. It was no surprise to anyone that he preferred the girl as his favorite member of the group; from the first moment they noticed their interactions, they could tell the man's preference for her.
He really likes Y/N.
We really like Y/N.
That voice haunting him again.
After what happened with Valentina and the team fighting his other self, Void has been more present than ever. Especially when she comes or when he senses Y/N is about to arrive. Like now, when he hears three knocks on the front door.
The man rushes to the door and takes a deep breath before opening it to find a smiling Y/N.
"Hey Bobby," she greets him.
"Hi Y/N. It's good to see you here," he says, shifting his body so she can go in first. Then he closes the door, his gaze never leaving the girl. "Is everything okay with the others?"
Y/N turns to look at him, smiling slightly. "Everything's fine," she says, placing her hands in the pockets of her green jacket, "although it's not the same without you."
Bob blushes and laughs nervously, scratching the back of his neck.
"That's uh... uh... good?" he says.
The truth is, she makes him nervous, like when he first met Linda. It had been a while since he felt that way; it was an effect that not even drugs could overcome, remembering how good it felt.
"Did you have breakfast?" she asked, walking into the kitchen. Bob shakes his head and approaches as well. "I can help you with that," she says with a smile.
The girl moves her hands and uses her powers to begin taking out the cutlery and a metal bowl to start cooking something. Bob still finds her handling of her powers fascinating, wondering if he'll ever have full control of his own.
A pleasant silence falls over them, the only sounds being the tapping of forks against the plate and the kettle indicating the water is ready. Bob walks over to turn it off and start making coffee while Y/N finishes making the pancakes. The moment feels so domestic that they both take advantage of it, spending the entire morning getting to know each other a little better.
And perhaps deciphering feelings that they thought would be impossible to feel again.
They had spent the entire day immersed in each other. Bob had told her things about his past, just as she had told him. They had realized they had several things in common, which made them feel complicit when it came to admitting their secrets and memories.
The night witnessed the knowing and lingering glances they cast on each other when they thought they weren't being watched by the other. Y/N had caught Bob's curious, tender eyes on her a couple of times, which only made her smile shyly and feel a blush creep into her cheeks. She thought Bob was an incredible person, and even though she didn't know him perfectly, she was certain of it.
And she had all the time in the world to do so, like tonight, for example.
"So, you fought with the Avengers against a purple Mad Titan?" he asks, frowning at the crazy memory.
She laughs and nods. "Yeah, twice. The first time we didn't make it, and the snap happened, and we all disappeared," the girl explains, playing with Bob's Rubik's Cube as they look out at the landscape from the roof of the house. "But it only lasted a couple of minutes until they brought us back, and we fought again, this time defeating Thanos. Thanks to Tony."
"The Tony Stark?" he asks in amazement, and she nods "That's amazing."
"That's when I met Bucky. Well, a couple of years ago, when this whole Sokovia Accords thing came up," she shrugs. "We fought on opposing teams led by Tony and Steve. It was my first time trying to participate in something that was considered good."
Y/N is quiet for a moment, a look on her face as if she's internally debating whether to share another important part of her life.
"And then I met Dieter."
Bob mimics her silence and swallows as the girl's face falls for a moment.
"Dieter was the one from...?" he ventures to ask, remembering the boy who appeared once they were in the void.
She makes a sound with her mouth, nodding her head.
"Dieter was a great friend," she admits, and stops moving the cube in her hands, feeling a chill run through her body. "He was someone who helped me when I was alone, and when I kept getting into trouble. Never left my side, even though he knew how dangerous it was to be with me."
Y/N looks down for a few seconds and swallows to relieve the pain forming in her throat. Bob notices this and the goosebumps forming on her arms, so without a second thought, he takes off the navy blue sweater he's wearing and gently touches her arm.
"Oh, it's okay," she says, laughing slightly.
"You know it's not," he says softly.
Y/N stares at him and lets Bob pull the sweater over her head, gently adjusting it on her body. It's bigger than it looks, and her nostrils instantly smell Bob's perfume, feeling the warmth of the garment immediately embrace her.
Bob remains in a short-sleeved shirt and crosses his arms.
"Now you'll be cold," she mentions, noticing the gesture.
He shrugs and dares to try flirting with her.
"Next time you can return the favor," he says, looking into her eyes.
Y/N raises an eyebrow and the corner of her lips lifts in a smirk.
"Next time, huh?" she asks, connecting her gaze with his.
The girl ventures to rest her head on the brunette's shoulder, making him freeze and feel his heart pounding, hoping she won't notice so easily. Then she wraps her arm around his and allows herself to continue appreciating the scenery.
"Next time, then," she promises.
Neither of them wants the moment to end, so Y/N asks a question to continue the conversation between them.
"Have you been okay?" She feels Bob let out a heavy sigh.
"You could say so," he answers, uncertain about the matter. He's not sure how he feels either. "Sometimes I spend sleepless nights afraid I'll lose control again. Or I can't stop moving just to have something else to think about. I wasn't as lost when I was on drugs as I am now."
She listens intently and steps away from him to get a better look. The man clenches his jaw and continues staring straight ahead.
"I'm a lost cause," he admits with a bitter taste in his mouth. "I always have been, and I always will be. I couldn't quit drugs, I lost important people because of my damn head and that damn other me that tries to consume me every day. I lose control and it's like I'm not me and... it doesn't matter if I try if I can't even take control of myself."
Y/N looks at him, sympathetic. She knows what it's like to feel that way and hates seeing him dejected by it.
"I'm lucky you and Yelena were there, and Bucky decided to trust me, and the rest too. But I still feel like I'm not worth it. I don't think I will."
Y/N licks her lips and places a hand on the man's cheek, making him look into her eyes.
"You are worth it. And you're not a lost cause," Y/N assures him in a firm voice. "We all go through it on the team, but at the end of the day, we were able to make it happen. It's up to us to change that, even if we have to take small steps to achieve it."
Bob looks at her, and his gaze softens.
"You have us to keep you company," she tells him with a slight smile. "You have me, too. And I'll make sure you don't forget why you've been doing this in the first place."
The brunette lowers his gaze to the girl's lips and thinks about how much he wants to kiss her, knowing that she will be with him throughout this entire process.
"You want to kiss me, huh?" she asks, amused, and he blushes, realizing he thought it out loud.
"I mean... well, it's not that I want to kiss you. Well, yes, but... I mean..." he stutters and freezes by the action of the girl.
Y/N kisses his cheek for a few seconds and pulls away to look at him again.
"I understand," she says, then lets out a sigh and gets up. "I think it's best to go to sleep, what do you say?"
He nods and jumps up, picking up the Rubik's Cube piece. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sleep, of course."
Void was awake.
He wandered aimlessly through the halls of the house, each step heavier than the last.
He was tired of being locked in his own darkness; he just wanted to take control and leave the place once and for all, so he could pursue his desire to dominate everything in his path.
He was a God, someone so powerful that no one could stop him.
However, there was someone who could do it besides Bob, something the dark presence didn't like to accept. Void realized that the time he fought against the Thunderbolts in New York. That time he managed to consume much of the city and its citizens in the darkness he reigned; the entity could have done so if not for a slight obstacle that crossed his path. And it wasn't the group, nor Bob—although it had a lot to do with him when he managed to control his mind and regain total control of himself.
Void walked confidently until he entered the guest room where Y/N was sleeping. The girl slept peacefully, her breathing calm as her chest rose and fell, immersed in the world of her dreams. Her hair fell across her forehead, and Void didn't hesitate to enter the room until he stood at the side of the bed.
Ever since Bob sent him back to the dark side of himself, he never stopped watching Y/N —following her, and feeling her. It was like a magnetic force that involuntarily drew him toward her, and it wasn't her powers that did it. It was her.
Perhaps it was the power the girl could unleash once she knew what she was really capable of, which could be useful to Void. Someone almost as powerful as him at his side, even if he didn't need it, could be an advantage in trying to take control once and for all. He had so much potential, but the girl wasted it doing good.
Void kneels down until he's level with the bed and stares at Y/N, unaware of his presence beside and so close to her. He runs his eyes over every detail of her face, memorizing every mole, freckle, and spot, lingering for a long moment on her lips. Void's jaw tightens and he directs his gaze to the strand of hair falling across her forehead, smoothing it back with his fingers. Y/N stirs in bed, frowning slightly at the cold sensation of something touching her skin.
Void doesn't even flinch.
He stays in place until he sees Y/N relax her frown again and fall back into a deep sleep. He smirks and sits watching her, feeling Bob struggle to get him to leave the room and leave her alone.
He chuckles.
"Oh, Bob," he mutters to himself. "You're not the only one interested in her."
If you hurt her, I swear I'll...
"You'll what? Send me back where I belong?" he sneers, and he feels Bob fighting with all his might to return to the light. "Try it, but you can be sure as hell I'll be back. Now I'm even more eager to meet Y/N. She's a gorgeous, don't you think?"
Summary: The closeness between Y/N and Bob was evident. There were small moments, hand touches and lingered looks that spoke for themselves, but they remained silent. Until one night.
Author's note: Hello! Honestly i can't stop writing for Bob Reynolds, once I start with one idea, I'm already starting with another ✨️ I still don't know how Sentry/Void will be introduced to us, so I apologize if I don't get the character's as it should be.
Enjoy!!! 💌

The attraction between Bob and Y/N was evident.
Everyone in the compound saw it, except them. Or maybe they were shy enough not to notice it. The accidental touches when they passed each other, when Y/N was in the kitchen and Bob bumped by accident into her to get a glass of water, or when on each mission he made sure the girl was okay. Just a glance was enough for both of them to communicate if one of them needed help or was in trouble. And he always had his eyes on her when they were fighting together with the team against the common enemy.
After battles they used to heal there wounds, Y/N's more so than Bob's, since the man's undeniable strength and power was an important factor that helped him not get hurt so easily. Anyway, he was always in the corner of the infirmary room while he watched the girl's wounds being treated and cleaned. Bob hated it when she winced, and even though she tried to camouflage it, he could notice how the knuckles of Y/N's fists turned white. Bob wanted nothing but to take away all the pain she felt, and if he could have it, he would gladly take it.
The team usually teases them about it. They always found the perfect opportunity to let Bob and Y/N know that they both had a genuine connection, and an undeniable tension whenever they were around them. Alexei always pointed this out and moved his eyebrows repeatedly at Bob when he saw Y/N enter the room. Or when Ava was reading a book in the living room and heard the pair's low laughter as they stood in the kitchen, looking like a married couple. Even Bucky joined in on the thousands of occasions to tease them for their closeness.
Bob's serenity and shyness didn't let him get so close to Y/N so easily, but that didn't stop him from always being there for her.
Like right now, for example.
Y/N had stayed up late training, because she was still having a hard time handling her hand-to-hand combat. It wasn't that she was beaten in missions, but she wanted to be able to have complete control of this type of fight. Y/N was much better at handling weapons, and although it was almost ironic how she could defeat the bad guys with them and not with her body, she was always triumphant against whoever she was fighting.
Before being on the team, the girl had no idea how to handle a weapon or even defend herself, but after Hydra experimented on her and maked her their pawn, she had acquired certain types of skills, such as telekinesis and mind control.
Now that no one was there, Y/N was taking advantage of the solitude to continue training.
On the other hand, Bob had been kept awake due to memories invading his head non-stop. He still had a hard time staying in control and calm, so in calm instances like this, he had to take advantage of it.
The man was walking through the halls of the compound when he stopped to hear sounds of punches coming from the training room. He stops and looks through the crack of the door to observe Y/N in the room.
He feels like a creepy for spying on her like that, but he can't take his eyes off her; not to her body, but to her. Bob begins to feel chills as soon as a sensation begins to form in his chest. A feeling he knows very well.
"No, no," he mutters to himself.
He feels Void's presence beginning to become present in the environment, and although he always tries to defeat it, he never succeeds. It's like Void wants to be present whenever Y/N is around.
I mean, who wouldn't? Bob thinks to himself.
"Oh, yes, dear Bobby," the evil presence tells him, letting out a dark laugh as he walks safely into the training room, without scaring away the girl who has her back turn to him for the moment.
Y/N doesn't even flinch from Void's presence with her in the room, but when she hears his voice she becomes alarmed.
"Your posture is wrong" Void says.
Y/N lets out a small scream as she turns around and with her powers raises a knife that is a few centimeters from the man's face. She lets out a more relaxed sigh and frowns.
"What are you doing up at this hour?" she asks.
He smiles at her and moves the knife with his hand to let it fall to the ground.
"I could ask you the same question," he tells her, approaching her.
Y/N smiles at him and points to the training bag they use to train.
"I need to improve in hand-to-hand combat," she responds, trying to comb her hair.
Void looks at her carefully and stands at her level, facing each other.
"I can help you," he tells her. "I'm very good at hand-to-hand combat."
She shakes her head in amusement and raises an eyebrow. "If you have nothing better to do"
"Oh, believe me. Nothing is better than this opportunity."
They both get into a combat position and Void gives the first blow, which the girl dodges with agility and speed. The two continue that dance of defense and attack movements, with each passing second they feel the heat of their bodies and the agitation of the moment.
"You keep doing that posture wrong," Void points out to her, shaking his head.
His firm hands move down to Y/N's hips, where he tries to position her correctly, as the distance between them seems to get closer and closer. Void's shadowy eyes are on the girl's lips, resisting the temptation to steal a kiss.
Y/N, on the other hand, looks at the man's lips and then looks at his eyes, meeting the surprise of his gaze on hers at the same time. The corner of Void's lips curve upward, keeping his hands on the girl's waist, who doesn't seem to be bothered by the position.
"This is how you have to be positioned from now on" Void says in a whisper.
Movie night had become a tradition for the team. Alexei had given the idea of meeting once a week in the living room to watch a movie together, in a way to release tensions and clear their minds from the battlefield and all the missions they had. It was exhausting, for everyone.
At first Yelena rolled her eyes at her father's idea, but she simply accepted because she had nothing better to do. Then the rest joined in, still under John's snorts at the thought of how ridiculous it was.
So now they were gathered in the living room while the movie on TV illuminated their faces. They had chosen, by vote, to watch "The Breakfast Club."
Y/N watched the movie attentively and relaxed from everything else, without noticing the fleeting and sometimes long-lasting glances that Bob gave her from the other side of the couch. If the rest of the team asked Bob at that moment what was happening in the movie, he would probably have no idea, despite having seen it before.
His attention was focused on the girl who at times laughed and looked at the screen. Bob was grateful that none of the other men present were sitting next to her, because it would be even more obvious that he had been staring at her for a while.
Beside him, someone subtly taps his arm. "You're too obvious, Bob," John whispers, popping a portion of popcorn into his mouth.
He suddenly gets nervous, but tries to look relaxed. "What are you taking about?"
John snorts and rolls his eyes. "About how you feel about Y/N."
Bob frowns and takes a quick look at the girl who is still staring at the TV.
"I don't have feelings for her. She's my teammate and a friend, nothing more," he rushes to respond, crossing his arms.
John shoots him an exasperated look as he sees the man next to him in denial about what he truly feels. The truth is that he hasn't been discreet at all when it comes to admiring Y/N, and everyone on the team can see it. Everyone except him and Y/N.
"Listen, because you sound like a fool every time you lie to yourself," the blonde tells him still in a low tone so as not to raise suspicions "It's clear that you have feelings for her, and she has feelings for you. We're not idiots to not notice every time you look at each other. The only idiots here are you and Y/N"
Bob frowns. "Don't call her an idiot."
John sighs and closes his eyes for a moment.
"You know what I mean"
Bob seems to process John's words and they are the simple truth. He couldn't keep hiding it and trying to go unnoticed about it, because if John was telling him that it was because it was more than obvious to the rest of the team, even to Alexei.
"I'm just saying don't hold onto your feelings too much, that'll only make you crazy," John says and makes a face. "Well, it's not like you haven't done it already."
Bob purses his lips and shakes his head, understanding what the blonde is referring to.
"Thank you"
John continues watching the movie and takes a portion of popcorns in his hands.
"This doesn't mean we're buddies, got it?"
Bob purses his lips and shakes his head.
"Got it"
Y/N couldn't sleep.
Her mind was plagued with horrible memories from her past, all relating to the experiments they did on her and the treatment and beatings she received for it. She had been unable to sleep for years, and when she did, only nightmares invaded her mind, tormenting and making the horrors she experienced flourish again.
The girl decides to get out of bed and leave the room to go to the terrace and let the stars surround her. When she goes out, she faces the cold of the night that imprisons her and causes her to cross her arms in an attempt to warm herself.
She is lost in her thoughts until a deep voice startles her. "Nightmares?"
"Shit" she turns around and sees Bob leaning against the wall of the terrace.
He laughs lightly and approaches slowly but surely until he is positioned next to Y/N. She realizes that the one who is actually present is Void, due to a dark and confident attitude that radiates from his person. In all this time that they have been together in the team, Y/N has been able to differentiate when it is about him and Bob. It is enough for her to just look into his eyes and notice his posture to know who she is dealing with.
Y/N relaxes and nods her head.
"Always nightmares" she answers looking at him "What about you?"
Void shrugs and rests his hands on the railings of the terrace, looking back at her.
"I'm enjoying the time I have while Bob rests"
"You're usually more present than he is," she points out and he smirks. "Why don't you let him be more present?"
The entity turns so that his entire body is facing the girl, telling her with his gaze that the answer is right in front of him.
"Because he doesn't know how to appreciate the moments he has with you."
She frowns slightly as heat covers her cheeks. It was true that every time they were together Void let her know that he liked being in Y/N's company, as did Bob. However, the latter had a hard time showing it because of his introverted personality.
She looks away at the lights covering New York City, feeling shy at Void's direct confession, who seemed confident.
"You should still give him a chance though." she points.
Void lets out a light laugh that makes Y/N's body shivers, because of how satisfied it sounds. He seems to notice her shiver, so he takes off the jacket he's wearing and covers the girl's arms, letting them rest on them for a few more minutes. Y/N smiles softly, at the same time the man's fragrance invades her nostrils.
"Oh, yeah?" he raises an eyebrow. "Tell me, who would you rather have here, now? With you."
His body seems to get closer and closer, as his eyes filled with dark desire fixate on the girl's lips.
"Well.... Sentry is more friendly, tender, and doesn't think about destroying everything in his path," she ventures to answer with a hint of amusement in her tone.
Void takes this as a sign to put his arm around the girl's waist and pull her slightly closer to him, feeling the heat radiate from their bodies suddenly.
"I can be all of that," he lets her know.
"Even if you leave your evil side aside?" she murmurs.
Void smirks.
"Oh, sweetie. I could never leave my evil side aside. You and the rest know that," he says, closing the distance between them, feeling his breath on her lips. "But for you, I could behave."
Y/N smiles lightly and he decides to close the distance between them finally, capturing her lips. Void wraps her in his arms as he feels her hands slowly rise to his neck, feeling goosebumps all of the sudden. Their mouths move in an increasingly agitated and passionate dance. Void leans her against the railing and enjoys the taste of the girl's lips, after a long time wanting to taste them. Y/N clings to his shirt, feeling the jacket covering her shoulders begin to fall, but Void is quicker to hold it and prevent the cold from hitting the girl's body.
"Damn it, get a room!" Yelena's voice exclaims behind her.
Y/N pulls away suddenly as Void stares at her flirtatiously, without caring for the presence of Yelena.
She licks her lips and looks at the blonde.
"I'm sorry" she says blushing.
"I'm not" Void intervenes, still facing away from the blonde.
Yelena shakes her head amused and sighs.
"Just don't make so much noise" she asks and then starts moving, but stops to speak "And use protection"
"Sure do" the man responds.
Y/N playfully punches him in the chest, still wrapped in his arms. Yelena leaves them alone and Y/N lets out a sigh fixing her hair. "
"So... where were we?"
Y/N rolls her eyes.
"You're unbelievable" she mutters.
"Yeah. That i'm"
And they continue their kissing session, while the lights of New York and the stars of the night sky bear witness.

She didn't know how or why since she couldn't remember "designing" him in her imagination, nor was he apparently based on anyone real and she usually had enough to do with the fantasies she imagined before bed about her favourite fictional characters or famous people, but apparently her mind had designed another life and a fictional boyfriend that she dreamt about every night when she fell unconscious. His name was Bob, and they did all the things couples do: go on dates, tell each other they love each other, hug, kiss... Etc. He was the perfect boyfriend in every way — he was her type in every way and he was everything a girl would want in a boyfriend.
According to her diary she had known him for a little over a year, although it had been longer since she started dreaming about him — but in reality she had known him for much longer, she just couldn't remember him.
Little by little she became obsessed with him, and although she saw him every night, she wanted to compile all their encounters because when she woke up she sometimes forgot many things, so she began to write and draw in notebooks everything she experienced with him so as not to forget anything and to feel him closer, more real. Maybe he wasn't real, but unfortunately her love for him was.
Even when she was awake she dreamt about him, and how could she not? She knew that her obsession with Bob had gotten out of control and that it wasn't normal to dream about him all the time, but according to her it was a defence mechanism her brain had created. She knew it wasn't normal, but was she hurting someone, or herself? She thought about going to therapy, but she didn't have enough money to go and talk about her dreams — it wasn't a real problem. She told herself that her love for Bob wouldn't slow down her love life in real life, but unfortunately her love life was as non-existent as this one apparently was — she couldn't find anyone she really connected with, and she'd rather be alone than in bad company.
She knew the dreams were strange, that nothing there made sense and that it was better not to try to make sense of them unless you wanted to end up with a headache from the confusion, but it was strange to her that she always dreamt in first person, when normally, before him, she used to dream in third person. They also tended to have continuity and she no longer dreamt strange things, like flying a plane and in the next "scene" being on the beach having a few beers with Queen Victoria. And sometimes she was aware that she was dreaming.
But at the same time she was fascinated by how real it all felt at times, so real that it was even scary. At that precise moment she couldn't see him as they were in the dark, but she could perfectly feel every millimetre of his body against hers — his hot and naked chest against hers in the same state, her legs hugging his back, her arms hugging his head, her hands clutching his long hair, his breathing hitching and moaning in her right ear with every thrust... She could even feel him cumming inside her and pulling out his member.
"See you tonight, my love," he whispered sweetly in her ear before kissing her cheek with the gentleness he hadn't had while fucking her, but her mind was so clouded by the orgasm she'd just had that she almost didn't hear him. The only thing working properly for her at the moment was her sense of touch, and she felt him pull away from her as she felt his cum drain from inside her.
"Bob?" she asked when she caught her breath, or rather, when she woke up. There was no answer and she didn't feel him next to her either, plus she was wearing panties and a baggy shirt again and didn't remember getting dressed.
She only saw two small white dots in front of her, assuming it was sunlight coming through the tight slits in the blind. She reached out to turn on the lamp on the bedside table next to the bed. When the small warm light illuminated the place she saw that she was in the room at home and not in the room in the house she shared with him in her dreams, which she knew as well as the real one. She felt a tickling liquid coming out between her vaginal lips, and for a second she thought, or rather, hoped it was his semen as crazy as it was and even though she didn't want to get pregnant, but for better or worse it was just a lot of discharge from the erotic dream she had had. She was so busy trying to process everything that she didn't even notice that those little white dots had disappeared with the light.
Then she reached under the pillow, reaching for her mobile phone with her sense of touch. When she picked it up, she pulled it out and looked at the time on the lockscreen. It was early in the morning and she was working the afternoon shift that day, so she decided to lie in bed doing nothing but daydreaming, wasting time and waiting for him to fall asleep again even for a little while so she could see him again, but no luck.
He was sitting cross-legged on their bed, and on his crotch was her. He had his hands on her waist and she had her hands on his shoulders as they talked about whatever, though she was paying more attention to his face, scanning and analysing every detail as she took her hands off his shoulders and brought them to his bangs, brushing them out of his face in an attempt to tuck them behind his ears.
"I'm not so handsome that you can't stop staring at me," he joked, tilting his head to the side to see if her eyes followed him.
"You're such a dummy, you are so handsome!" she replied, pretending to be offended as she gave him a little tap on the shoulder with her dominant hand, and they both laughed. "But that's not all..." she said more calmly, "I have this feeling..." she said as she looked at various parts of his face and put her dominant hand on one of his cheeks, "that I know you in real life," she said finally looking into his eyes as he moved his head towards her hand, to feel her touch even closer.
"Maybe you did," he said with a melancholy smile and tone — he always got like that when she was aware that what she was living was a dream, "in another life."
It sounded beautiful, and maybe there were possibilities (considering the strange world she lived in, where aliens and magic existed), but she was a reasonable girl and thought it was more likely that he simply had the face of someone she saw at the train station where she worked. She saw thousands of faces a day, his face was probably of some guy who made a dent in her subconscious (and with how handsome Bob was, she wouldn't be surprised).
"And what kind of life was that? Um?" she asked curiously. She didn't believe that possibility, but she wanted to imagine this supposed past life.
"Maybe..." he said looking behind her shoulder. "I was a superhero and I had to make everyone forget about me with my superpowers," he said forcing a comical tone but still unable to look her straight in the eye, not wanting her to realise that what he was saying was the truth.
"Why?" she asked, wanting more information. The story sounded interesting.
"For safety, of everyone" and she assumed he meant it for his civilian identity, so that she and other loved ones wouldn't be attacked by villains.
"Well, that's sad," she said grimacing.
"Yeah," he said grimacing as her. He then hugged her, needing the comfort and protection of being so close to her and wanting to hide the tears that were beginning to form in his eyes. Evidently she returned the gesture, hugging his head in silence until she sighed deeply.
"...I'd love it if you were real," she said sorrowfully.
"...If it's any consolation..." he said looking at her again, "You're very real to me, you're everything to me."
"Yeah, but... I want to be with you always," she said, as much moved as frustrated.
"I'm always with you, I'm closer than you can imagine. Trust me, I'm your guardian angel."
Summary: Y/N loved the darkness because she could see the stars better. Void does everything in his power to make sure she can gaze at the starry sky, even if it means turning everything into darkness.
Author's note: I'm counting the days to see Thunderbolts, and the premiere is getting closer and closer. Who else is excited?
In the comments, tell me any ideas for a future Bob one shot, if you want <333

It was midnight, and the girl still couldn't get to sleep. This wasn't a surprise, since she hadn't been able to get a good night's sleep since Hydra took her prisoner.
All the times they took her from one room to another to experiment on her, the brute force they exerted on her when she resisted, the blows, bruises, and the cold that accompanied her at night had taken a serious toll on her. And the only witness observing all these atrocities were the stars.
Little Y/N constantly looked at the stars at night through the small windows on the roof of the experiment lab every time Hydra had her captive with their vile intentions to make her their lab rat. One more pawn in their chess game and manage to have everything at their disposal. She took refuge in them, thinking about how beautiful they looked, far from all the pain she'd experienced. Far from all the evil and harm she'd had to endure at such a young age.
She dreamed of going to the stars to find peace and quiet, but when she turned 18, she realized that would never happen. All the people she'd had to murder in cold blood because if she didn't, she'd suffer the consequences. Then, she had no choice but to end their lives.
At 24, she was able to escape Hydra's clutches when Bucky Barnes came for her on a mission led by the Avengers. She felt relieved to see she'd be safe, but it didn't last long. Thanos's snap happened, and they had to fight him, and the Avengers were nothing more than a name after that. Valentina then gathered them together so they could be her new pawns protecting the land, but everything went to hell when they discovered that their new friend Bob also turned out to be a villain, or rather, his other self: The Void.
Over time, they were able to help him calm his entities, which were constantly battling to emerge into the light or the darkness. Usually, Bob did it himself, but when it got too much, Yelena, Bucky, and Y/N were able to bring him back.
The night was starry, making Y/N feel peaceful and calm, despite hearing the noise of New York City down below. All the city lights dimmed the stars, so it wasn't the same compared to the nights she was in the lab. She settles onto the deck railing and sighs, still feeling the ache in her shoulder from today's mission. The is so absorbed in the sky, that she doesn't notice the shadowy presence of Void watching her from afar with his arms behind his back.
While Bob slept, Void could be present at night. He had nothing to do but prowl the compound, as most people were sleeping peacefully. Especially Alexei and John, who snored as if their lives depended on it. So seeing Y/N on the terrace seemed to make his night a lot more interesting, especially since Void had taken a liking to the girl.
He wanted to be able to say that he liked the rest of the team's presence, but he would be lying through his teeth if that were the case. However, with Y/N it seemed to be different, because she wasn't loud, or bossy, or sarcastic with her comments, and she wasn't 24/7 trying to get rid of him when Void took control. On the contrary, she was quiet, spoke when she needed to, and always acted in an understanding manner, making Bob's dark entity feel a little more welcome.
Void takes slow steps toward her.
"Shouldn't you let Bob rest?" she asks, still keeping her back to him.
He smiles amusedly and comes to her side, leaning an elbow on the railing so his body is turned toward her. And his attention is focused on her only.
"He's asleep," he replies simply. "When the poor guy falls asleep, I can go out and get some fresh air."
Y/N glances at him and smiles slightly.
"Now tell me, what are you doing up so late?" Void asks.
Y/N bites her cheek for a second, debating whether or not to tell this guy what's going on in her head. She'd learned to be careful around Void when he appeared, not wanting to provoke him into losing control like last time. However, he had proven that he is capable of controlling himself, as long as no one overstepped his boundaries, and by boundaries he meant not confronting him.
The girl looks into his eyes and notices the darkness with which they stare at her, but somehow they don't make her feel uncomfortable or afraid.
"I can't sleep," she declares. "Ever since I was a kid, I've had trouble sleeping because of everything I went through at Hydra."
Void remains silent, waiting for her to continue, his brow furrowed slightly.
"All the times they experimented on me and..." she sighs and closes her eyes for a moment. "Anyway. There used to be a space in the ceiling where I could see the stars, that way I could think about something else while Hydra got their filthy hands on me to turn me into their weapon. Every time I looked at the stars, I thought about how calm and peaceful they were, wishing I could be like them while i was in hell"
Void looks down for a brief moment as he listens to her, feeling compassion for her. While he fed off people's fears brought on by the same darkness he inflicted on them, he couldn't imagine what had happened to Y/N. He was in conflict with himself for feeling that way about the girl, because he shouldn't. He swallows at the feeling, trying to get rid of it.
"Now I try to look at them whenever I can't go to bed, trying to get back to sleep, but it's hard to do with all the lights in New York City," she lets out a humorless laugh.
Void scans the girl's face as she looks up at the sky, and without thinking about the consequences, he raises a hand and begins to let the darkness flow over the city, turning everything dark.
Y/N frowns at this and watches as Void stares at her as he envelops the city in darkness with a single wave of his hand. Everything is blacked out, and she can hear the commotion of people in the streets below.
"Void..." she says hesitantly.
"It'll just be a second," he says confidently. "You wanted to see the stars, didn't you? I gave you the stars to gaze at. Enjoy it."
Y/N knows she should refuse because this could affect the entire city, but her selfish side decides for her, making her look up at the sky and contemplate the stars more clearly. They are bright, and there are more than she had counted before darkness enveloped the city.
Y/N leans on the railing and smiles slightly as she feels the night breeze.
"Thank you," she thanks Void, while continuing to admire the starry sky, feeling at peace.
"You owe me, Y/N," he says, resting his hands on the railing, still looking at her.
She smiles sideways and nods.
"I think it's worth it," she says. "It's beautiful. Don't you think?"
Void nods and agrees.
"It is beautiful, indeed," he says in a low tone.
But what the girl doesn't know is that he isn't referring to the stars, as he has no interest in them at all. He's referring to her, and the brightness of her eyes that overshadows the stars. Void decides it's his new favorite thing to admire, and if he had to darken everything in his path again so Y/N could enjoy it, he'd do it a thousand times over.
Nothing's gonna stop us now || (Void x reader x Sentry)
Summary: Y/N is pulled into the Void by the dark entity that takes over Bob. The team prepares to go after her, while Y/N and Void seem to get a little closer. But at the same time, the past and traumas can be revived.
Author's note: I'm counting down the days until Thunderbolts* comes out, I'm so excited and I need more and more new trailers and teasers!!✨️ This movie will definitely surprise us.
On the other hand, this is a continuation of the Thunderbolts series, based on scenes from the new teaser that came out. Here we finally explore the Void.
Hope you like it! 💌
Everything was dark.
Y/N was stranded in complete darkness, unable to see anything that would indicate where she might be. It's cold, empty and void. She thinks it might be one of her many nightmares. Usually, darkness surrounded her and took her back to her worst memories of everything she had to endure.
Her heart was beating hard, but she was strong and fearless on the outside; she didn't want to look defenseless. She hopes the team can find her, but the girl's sure it will take a while, because she herself didn't know where she was, to begin with. After a few seconds, she begins to hear footsteps getting closer and closer to her, and feels a presence behind her. Suddenly her vision clears and she seems to appear in front of the door of a laboratory. She swallows hard as she remembers what it is and her hair stands on end.
"A lot of memories, huh?" he asks behind her back.
Y/N falls silent and hears a mocking laugh from beside her. Void stares at her with his body turned towards her, putting his arms behind his back.
"It must have been difficult for little Y/N to be experimented on for her..." he approaches her ear to whisper "abilities"
Y/N shakes her head, while Void smirks. Inside the girl feels nauseous and a cold that suddenly envelops her.
"Do you want to destabilize me? Is that your purpose with us?" She tries to sound firm, but feels her voice shake a little. "What do you want?"
Void stands in front of her and suddenly the girl feels his dark gaze piercing her soul. He hardens his gaze, raising his hand and caressing her cheek, watching as Y/N slightly moves away from him.
"We're not so different. You and I," he answers as he begins to walk around her, as if she were his prey . "I've noticed since Bob met you all the pain that consumes you from the inside. Your past that condemns you, even though you move forward. Even if avoid your fears."
Y/N licks her lips. She decides that it's pointless to use her powers for now, since he can easily use them against her, so she decides to play along.
"What do you gain from all this?" she asks. Void stops in front of her again and smiles coldly at her again.
"A companion," he replies. "Someone who will help me, accompany me, and... share the same desires as me."
"What would those wishes be? If we're not supposed to be so different, like you said" she asks.
Void answers her seriously, while Y/N hears the door open and notices a person in a chair with her hands and feet tied. Long black hair covers the person's face, but she knows who it is.
"Having total control of our lives" he says in the girl's ear, while he is behind her "But first we must face our fears"
Y/N is alarmed as soon as she feels Void gently push her into the room and face one of her greatest fears.
Being seen as a monster.
She turns to Void, but he disappears leaving her completely alone with her past. After that, she begins to pound on the door with all her might. She uses her powers to try to find a way out or make one to escape from there, but it's impossible.
She decides that the most reasonable thing to do—and the only thing she can do now—is to face her past. So letting out a sigh and trying to calm her breathing, she turns around finding herself trapped in the chair.
Reliving all the pain she remembers as if she never managed to escape.
If she could escape and defeat it once, she could do it again. Her heart was still racing after being able to face such a memory that tormented her.
She had fought off a few more before Void appeared at her side again, grinning from ear to ear. It was true that he enjoyed the situation, because he fed off of people's fear. But even with a dark soul, deep in his heart, Void felt a bit sorry for the girl.
Void was not in the habit of obsessing over people. He wanted to see them suffer and fall into the void of their own fears, thus being able to grow stronger with each fearful soul, advancing further until achieving his goal: having total control of Bob's body.
"I see you've been able to get through all this," he announces. "You should be proud of yourself."
"How much longer will you keep me here?" she asks softly.
Void raises an eyebrow.
"You don't like my company?" Void pouts and sighs in mock pain. "And here I thought we were beginning to be friends."
Y/N smirks and doesn't look away this time.
"If you didn't want to destroy me mentally, maybe I'd give you a chance," she admits, then shrugs, "I'm very friendly. Especially to those I care about"
Void turns his back and a smile curves his lips, thinking about how interesting he finds the girl, even though he shouldn't. It's as if an invisible magnetic force is trying to draw him to her and wants to explore all her fears and pains in order to—perhaps—take them away from her. That's ridiculous even thinking about it, he thinks to himself.
"Your friends are here," he announces, and a hint of hope and reassurance spreads through Y/N's chest. "But it won't be easy for them to find you."
He vanishes in the corners of the dark. And although Y/N didn't really crave his company, she seemed to need it now, immersed in loneliness. And after a few seconds, Y/N's surroundings begin to transform into a place she knows very well. A place where she felt safe, or rather a person made her feel safe.
Dieter. An old friend.
Void disappears, leaving her alone in the room filled with clothes, suits, and fabrics scattered everywhere. She feels her eyes water with tears as she sees that everything is just as the boy had arranged it when he was alive.
"No," she murmurs shaking her head.
A chill runs down her spine as she feels someone breathing near her neck, so she quickly turns around, finding nothing but a copy of the suit she is wearing. The battle suit and the green crown that Dieter made for her. But it's all covered in blood.
Suddenly, she feels someone's arms pull and imprison her without her being able to move. She struggles, entering into desperation.
"You killed me" they whisper in her ear, before they throw her to the floor and thousands of fabrics begin to tie her body so that she does not escape easily.
If them were metal, she would have freed herself already. In front of her appears the blond —Dieter— who accompanied her when she needed him the most. Then, her sister Wanda and Pietro appear. But the three of them have a horrible and putrid appearance, as if they had come out of the grave.
"It's your fault" Wanda whispers in a creepy voice.
Y/N shakes her head repeatedly, wanting to run away from the place. She can't take it anymore.
"No, no, no. I didn't...." she whispers.
Dieter takes it upon himself to bring his dirty, wounded hands up to Y/N's neck and begin to choke her.
Void watches all of this from the darkness of the room and the scenario he creates for her. He should be enjoying this, but he can't quite do it. However, the dark entity sees the desperation in the girl's soul and can't help but feel something stir inside him.
He doesn't like this feeling. Because it's new for him.
Why?
"Please" she begs crying, tears falling down her cheeks "I'm sorry. Please.... i didn't do it. It wasn't my fault"
Void clenches his jaw and stares intently at the scene before his eyes and thinks that it's too much, so he decides to stop it, and is shocked by the decision he has just made.
For the first time ever.
What was going on with him?
Void feels Sentry starting to fight him, so he must get away from the place immediately and take care of it —more like him. Not without giving the girl one last look.
...
Y/N sits on the ground and catches her breath, moving as far away from what was once the nightmare as possible. Suddenly, she feels arms around her and screams in fear trying to free herself.
"Hey, hey. It's me. Bucky" says the voice.
Y/N turns to find the black haired man besides her and the notices the rest of the team with faces relieved to find her, but as if they had been recently traumatized too. She touches his arms and feels that he is real, so she lets her friend hug her.
"We came for you" says Yelena besides her on her knees.
Y/N smiles gratefully at her and the others.
As if regaining her memory, she looks around and tries to find a sign of Void, but he's not there. And she doesn't feel his presence either. But she is surprised to see Bob in a gold and blue suit, with a slightly more confident posture.
"Bob?" she asks.
He walks over to her and kneels down beside her.
"He won't hurt you anymore," he promises in a confident voice.
Y/N frowns and shakes her head, not quite understanding.
"I don't understand. Where is he? Will he come back? Why....?" she asks.
Bob takes her hand to try to calm her down.
"We took care of him while he had you prisoner of your traumas" John answers behind Bucky's back "Well, Bob took care of him"
Y/N looks at the blue-eyed man and he tells her with his gaze that it's true.
"Each one of us had to go through the same thing, Y/N" Ava points out softly in her voice "But we're okay now. Now that we're together"
"As a team" Yelena says.
"As a family" Alexei corrects.
A small smile forms on her lips.
Then her eyes travel to Bob who is still holding her hand. A look of guilt paints his face.
"I'm sorry for what I put you through. What he put you through" he says sincerely. "I promise you that I will control it."
The girl nods with her head, finally shaking her hand with his, and understanding that it is not his fault. She still doesn't know who Bob really is, or what Void wanted of her — with her— or if they are the same person. But one thing she was sure of for now.
She had a team that would be there for her, and help her get through this when she never had anyone to do it before.
Perhaps, a family?
No, they were still very far from it.
But that was enough for now.
....
And Void was also far away, watching her. In the dark, the void.

It had been a good few months for Bob. Although he didn't dare use his powers again, he was now living free with the New Avengers in their tower. He had gained a group of friends, a family who loved him and really cared about him. What he didn't know was that he had also gained a girlfriend, kinda. And to his surprise, she was the one he shared the least alone time with, or so he thought.
It was easy to hide the secret from Bob, it was the others who were the problem. Luckily there were few of them in the team, but they still seemed too many. It didn't help that almost all of them were trained as spies and that one in particular could turn invisible, though at least Void had the ability to see her even if she turned invisible to the others.
They saw each other at night, when everyone was asleep and when Bob was supposed to be asleep, so Bob would have no gaps in his memory and wouldn't suspect anything. But it's hard not to make noise when you meet your partner in your room at night... Although the walls, doors and windows of the attic were soundproofed, they always tried to make as little noise as possible, as some of the team members had enhanced abilities.
And even if there was plenty of room, sometimes it was inevitable that they would bump into someone.
It was three o'clock in the morning when, kissing goodbye in front of Bob's bedroom door, they accidentally bumped into Bucky, probably awake due to insomnia or just awakened by a nightmare with traumatic memories. The couple separated quickly, and luckily the darkness of the place disguised well the facial expression of Void, so different and yet so similar to Bob's.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-" said the soldier in a whisper.
"Don't worry about it," she said in the same tone, looking up at him as she took her boyfriend's hand, squeezing it tightly. And he understood perfectly what she was trying to communicate: "Play along with me and pretend". "Please don't say anything to the others, we want it to be secret," and in that sense she wasn't lying. "You haven't seen us and we haven't seen you, okay? This didn't happen."
Though it was dark they noticed him nod as he resumed his silent course, and Void merely said a silent goodbye to her as well, leaning over her slightly to kiss the top of her head as he grabbed the doorknob with one hand to slowly open the door and lock himself inside the room.
If only Bucky had been the only one who had discovered them unwittingly... But as time went on they all discovered them, and they followed the same strategy they had with this one.
Also, as time went on, Bob began to feel something for her. It was more than companionship and friendship, and perhaps it didn't make sense because he didn't have as close a relationship with her as he did with Yelena, but he could tell he had a special chemistry with her. He unknowingly caught the love that Void had for her.
And he might not remember the experiences of Void, but the muscle memory remained. He couldn't help but turn his neck in the direction ______ was facing, fix his eyes on her, sharpen his hearing at the sound of her voice, and even feel the urge to take her hand and kiss her. Clearly he didn't do that, because she wasn't his. He knew that. A voice inside him reminded him of it when he stared at her too long. "She's not yours." But he wanted to make her his, and he knew he needed female advice for that.
"Can we talk?" Bob asked quietly, shyly entering his best girl friend's bedroom after he knocked on the door with a few taps and she told him from inside that he could come in. "I need advice on a matter..." he said as he closed the door behind him.
"Sure," she replied as she got up from the bed she was lying on, sitting cross-legged and locking her mobile phone to put it away. "What is it?" she asked as she watched him approach her bed. "Is something wrong?" she asked as he sat on the edge of the bed.
"No no," he said quickly, reassuring her and dispelling any doubts about his mental health. "You see..." he sighed, staring off into nothingness, mentally thinking about what he was going to say and how he was going to say it, "I like ______," he said shyly, "and, I don't know," he shrugged, "I was wondering if you could give me some advice on... I don't know- Winning her over and maybe asking her out," she looked at him completely quizzical, frowning.
"Weren't you already dating her?"
"What?" he asked now, in the same tone and with the same facial expression. "No."
"Oh so you're just having an affair...?" she asked, a little less confused.
"No, not even that," he said still just as confused, and the same level of confusion returned in her.
"I saw you together one night," she remembered, "kissing in the middle of the hallway."
"Are you sure it was me?"
"Well, yes — it was dark, but..."
And she stopped dead in her tracks, falling silent for a second. As soon as they both heard the word "dark" they looked at each other tense and nervous, but with understanding.
"Do you think she knows it's not me?" he asked.
"How could she not know? If she thought it was you she'd be throwing herself into your arms all the time."
Knowing that she was well aware that it wasn't Bob he felt a mixture of emotions: sadness, anger, surprise, confusion, envy, jealousy... He found it hard to believe, and if that wasn't enough, Yelena added more information:
"______ told me you wanted it to be a secret, asked me not to tell anyone and to pretend I hadn't seen anything even with you- with them," she corrected herself quickly.
"Good God," he said getting up from the bed, pacing back and forth hysterically, "How did- How did he- How did they- Oh my God," he was overwhelmed by all the questions on his mind, but he didn't want Void to show up to answer them, let alone lose control of the body. "What should I do?" he asked looking at Yelena at last.
"First calm down and then talk to her. There is no other option."
Unfortunately she wasn't present in the tower, she had gone out for a while and because of that he went to ask Yelena for advice at that very moment. He had to wait for her to return, and the wait became eternal and deadly.
"What is it, honey?" she asked as she set her bag on her desk, her back to him. He wasn't surprised by the nickname as she often called him and the other men in the group that. They were in her bedroom, with the door closed. She had just arrived and didn't even have time to take off her shoes.
"By that do you mean me? Or Void?" He said behind her, trying not to sound too annoyed, and it was a good thing she had her back to him, because the way her face darkened wasn't at all disguised. She tried to recompose her facial expression before turning to look at him.
"What?" She asked pretending to be confused, though she really was, but in the way she was pretending to be.
"Don't play dumb with me," he said, not completely annoyed but clearly not happy — he was nervous and tired, eager for this awkward moment to be over as soon as possible. He didn't like confrontations, even if they were only verbal and seemingly peaceful.
"What do you know?" she asked, now really serious.
"Enough," he nodded, infected by her seriousness.
"And how do you know that?" she asked as she crossed her arms.
"That doesn't matter now," he replied. "What kind of relationship do you have?"
"We're dating," she reported matter-of-factly but still folded her arms, lifting her shoulders slightly and looking at the ground for a second. The confirmation from her side felt like a stab in Bob's chest. There it was again, that mix of emotions inside his chest.
"Okay, leave him," he said.
"Just because you say so?" she said sarcastically as she laughed, snorting through her nose. She didn't mean to be rude, but she wasn't liking the conversation and wanted to make her position clear. "I'm not leaving him," she said shaking her head subtly, "and he's not leaving me. Our love life is none of your business."
"A monster like him can't fall in love," he informed her, trying to talk some sense into her.
"He's not a monster, and he can," she said annoyed and hurt.
"It's impossible," he replied.
"No," she shook her head again, growing more and more annoyed and hurt.
"I mean- You're wonderful, but-" he hastened to correct himself, blushing slightly, closing his eyes tightly and holding up his hands.
"I know him better than you do Bob," she said.
"Better than me!?" He couldn't help laughing in the same way she laughed before, but the laughter didn't last long. "I just want to protect you," he said desperately now.
"I don't need your protection," she said annoyed.
"You're not safe with him!" he said, also annoyed.
"He's changed!" She opened her mouth to say something else, but was interrupted.
"Oh, you fixed him?" he said annoyed but with a smirk, laughing as he looked at her raising eyebrows.
Now she was the one stabbed in the chest. Her face softened, but not in amusement or joy, but in utter hurt. She looked at him as if he had betrayed her. Her eyes widened like discs as she listened in surprise at such audacity, but they also trembled, as did her narrowed lips. He quickly realised the mistake he had made, and in sorrow he approached her to try to take her hands and apologise, but she took a step back.
"...He talks to me better than you do," she said again, wrinkling her forehead as she subtly shook her head.
"Nonono," he said in despair at hearing that, overwhelmed by the situation and feeling himself losing control. His facial expression and body language changed in an instant, as did his tone. "Robert, the hero," he said sarcastically as he moved closer to her to calm her in his arms. "I swear I'd kill him if I could," he said as he kissed her head furiously, looking furiously at the nothingness behind her back.
"He means no harm..." she said softly as she hugged him tightly.
"But bad execution," he said as he pulled away from her to put his hands on her cheeks, making her stare at him. "Don't listen to him. I love you," he said seriously.
"I know..." she said, looking him in the eyes. "But..." She looked down, sorrowful.
"He's jealous, he thinks he's a better choice for you," he said as he released her cheeks to take her hands.
"What?" she asked confused.
"Yeah, he's been in love with you for a while. I've tried to contain it as much as I can."
"Oh..." she said crestfallen and thoughtful. "Don't torture him too much," she looked back into his eyes, "he's got enough, the poor guy," and he rolled his eyes as she let go of his hands, but he had no choice. "I'm sure he knows it from the others," she said annoyed as she leaned her buttocks on the edge of the desk, arms folded. "Maybe it's time to come forward..." She sighed deeply, thoughtfully and worriedly as he raised his arms and rested his head in his hands.
She didn't like having a secret relationship, but she was aware of the opinion others had of her partner. It made her sick to remember it now, but in the beginning she thought badly of him too. How things had changed... She fell completely at his feet, but she had no regrets — he gave her no reason to do so, surprisingly.
"I don't give a fuck about what they think of me," he said nonchalantly, "but I know that unfortunately you don't," he huffed in annoyance, lowering his arms. "Are you sure about that? You know their first impression of me wasn't a good one."
"Why is that?" She said sarcastically, to which he couldn't help but laugh, moving closer to her, dangerously close, and placing one of his hands on the side of her hips, dropping the weight of his body on his arm and ducking his head and gaze.
"I can behave, you know that," he said smirking, and also leering.
"You can when you shut your mouth because you want them to think you're Bob," she reminded him without returning his gaze, still slightly annoyed, but he knew it wasn't personal but with the situation.
"I'll try," he laughed quietly, "just for you," he said softer now, sweeter, "mm?" He asked as he lifted and moved her chin in his direction with the index finger of his free hand, causing her to look back at him. She couldn't help but smile, albeit tiredly, and nodded her head silently. But then he leaned closer to kiss her on the cheek, now provoking a genuine smile and a slight blush on her.
