Discovery Haters are 90% Men.

Me: reading the comments in an ad for Star Trek: Discovery on Facebook, all of whom are complaining about the writing, the annoying characters, and how it should be called ‘Millennial Trek’ because of it’s progressiveness.  Me: Starts reading the names of every commenter. Me: OH MY GAWD, YOU’RE ALL MEN. ALL OF YOU.  Discovery is amazing. The queer characters. The found family elements. The character development. The tons of people of color. DOUG JONES.  Brian Fuller is a creator.  WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT? IT’S EFFING AWESOME. BYE.  (It’s like how so many men hate Fury Road. Like, “oh I’m sorry the allegory’s for rape happening to a man made you so uncomfortable you poor bb’s.”)

Weird Dreams in the Frigid Cold

We seem to have dodged the brunt of the snowstorm that was threatening much of the US, but the temperatures are COLD. Current temp is in the low 20s F (which is in the negative numbers for C). I ended up wrapping myself in blankets while I slept. I'm not sure where N the Cat slept. Probably on a radiator cover.

This morning, I woke up from a half-remembered dream which seemed to have the same plot as the first Avenger movie, but instead of everyone being superheroes, they were non-super powered, ordinary, angsty whiny twenty-somethings, who spent the whole time complaining about how awful everything was and instead of trying to get back the cube (which was in fact a poorly shaped hunk of metal you could have pulled out of a slag heap), they were trying to figure out some way to get rid of the damn thing, which was possibly radioactive.

I woke up before the fate of the world was decided.

I'm Maggi. Or Margaret. Whichever.  I am currently a grad student in psychology, like being alone, reading alone, and drinking tea (also drinking pinot grigio with my grandmother). My favorite drinks are mimosas, moscato, and anything with Malibu. My current favorite brand of wine is Menage a Trois bottled by Folie A Deux winery in Napa. I am not the funny one. 

i'm the funny one, lizz. i'm more of a whiner than a wino. i also enjoy moscato and the occasional franzia sunset blush. i don't drink much though, as i live in my parents basement and my life can only be so sad. look to me for all your snappy remarks and witty quips.
