REAL BURGER POST‼️
photo by me! at The Win~Dow [Los Angeles, CA, USA]

I was pleasantly surprised to see the new Win-Dow at the Hollywood Ovation shopping center. The Win-Dow is a burger stand that’s very reasonably priced. I’ve been to the one in Silver Lake. I wasn’t that fond of their smashburger, but the dipped cone was amazing. I’ve been wanting to try their other items as well.
The menu includes burgers (including the option of an Impossible Burger), fried chicken sandwich, grain bowl, kale salad, French fries, shakes, dipped cones, and beverages. Their smash burgers are cooked on a flat top grill with onions, served with American cheese, pickles, and house sauce.
Order and pay. They’ll call your name when your order is ready.
The $8 grain bowl ($8): warm brown rice, soft egg (two halves), six veggies (radish, carrots, shredded kale, mashed avocado, pickled peppers, roasted broccoli), cilantro, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, and a house dressing. Really good. I’ve had a lot of grain bowls and this one is up there. The egg yolks were soft and luscious. Loved the avo mash. The veggies were crunchy and fresh. The rice was warm. The dressing was tangy. I could eat this every day. Also, it was large enough to be the main meal.
Prices are very reasonable and there’s a lot more seating than the Silver Lake one. Parking is going to be tough, though the Ovation has a parking structure ($3 for 2 hours with validation). I’m not sure if they validate parking.

Liking the hipster/mysterious vibe at The WinDow. There are three windows: the order window, pickup window for food, pickup window for ice cream and delivery order. The windows are tinted, so you can’t see what’s going on inside. I could not see the face of the person who took my order or the ones who handed me my food. In one case, the bag was left on the counter, so I didn’t even see a human touching the bag.
Order at the window that says ORDER. The menu is simple: cheeseburgers, vegetarian burger, grain bowl, kale salad, French fries, fried chicken sandwich, shakes and dipped cones. On weekends they have a few more items on the menu.

Cheeseburger ($3.95): Thin patty with crispy bits, good beef flavor but too salty. Also, the onions were black/burnt. Liked the crunchy sour pickles. The house sauce was like a combo of mayo and ketchup – rather bland. The brioche bun was soft and did not have sesame seeds. The burger was okay. I wouldn’t get it again.
Peanut buddy dipped cone ($5): Huge! Reminded me of the Nutty Buddy ice cream cones I used to get but much better. Creamy vanilla soft serve, a thick chocolate shell, chopped peanuts on a crunchy cake cone with a very useful cone holder. I would come back for a dipped cone.
Prices are very reasonable. The seating is very casual – cheap plastic stools and a pop-up tent. Somehow, they made it look artsy.
