This gig was top notch excellence, even if the audio in the video sounds a bit muffled. James sounded genuinely proud to be finally playing a headlining gig there with such a great turnout, the room was almost full and buzzing with excitement. So it did seem like a victory lap after three nights of straight up killing it at the Garden.
For the record, I’ve seen them at the Bowery twice before. Once for the label tour in 2009, with Brakes and We Were Promised Jetpacks, and supporting Mono in 2010. This was their first true headliner gig.
