Remembering Richard Lewis 1947-2023
Sad news today that comedian and actor Richard Lewis has died at 76. His NY neurotic act was LOL funny. I remember seeing some of his talk show appearances and comedy specials in the 80s and my Dad and I laughed a lot.
David and Lewis on Curb Your Enthusiasm
His best role was as the TV version of himself on Curb Your Enthusiasm (HBO 2000-present). Creator/star Larry David and Lewis grew up together and came up in the NYC comedy scene together and he played one of David's friends on the show. Last year, Lewis announced he had Parkinson's, which made his return on the new season of Curb that much more special to see him riffing with David again like earlier seasons. The series is one of the greatest comedies in TV history and it still is! Lewis was always funny on the show.
He also appeared in a number of movies and TV shows notably The Wrong Guys, Anything But Love (ABC 1989-1992), an episode of Tales from the Crypt, and Leaving Las Vegas.

In Memoriam: Louie Anderson (1953-2022)
Man today just absolutely sucks. On the tails of noted rockstar Meat Loaf’s passing, it is also my sad duty to report that comedian and actor Louie Anderson has passed away at the age of sixty-eight after a fight with blood cancer. Born Louis Perry Anderson on March 24, 1953, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Anderson grew up in a large family, the second youngest of eleven children. As a child,…

The Emmy-winning actor and author also created 'Life With Louie,' appeared in both 'Coming to America' films and hosted 'Family Feud.'
Remembering Louie Anderson 1953-202
Only a few hours after learning about the passing of Meat Loaf, now the news that stand up comedian Louie Anderson has died at 68. Bummer.
I remembering seeing his stand-up routines and specials in the 80s. He was super funny without being R-rated. He became a regular at Comic Relief and on late night talk shows.
In the movies, he was great as the flower delivery guy in Ferris Bueller's Day Off (just bopping along to the singing nurse), The Wrong Guys, Coming to America, and the sequel Coming 2 America (read my review here). Fun fact: Louie was originally cast in the unaired pilot of TV’s Perfect Strangers and was replaced by Mark Linn-Baker. I can’t imagine anyone else as Cousin Larry, but it wouldn’t been interesting to see the comedy shenanigans he’d get into with Bronson Pinchot.
