Exalted Tooth Fairies

Mortals in Exalted only have one set of teeth that falls out when they are children. Tooth Fairies are tiny gods (who are called fairies because they have access to small amounts of gossamer) who come in the night and magically implant new teeth seeds into the mouths of mortals.

Because nobody knows they exist, tooth fairies do not receive prayer, and thus must subsist on taking whatever teeth they can scavenge and using one of their unique charms to turn it into ambrosia. Being a tooth fairy in Creation is a very thankless job. Most tooth fairies are basically broke. (Heaven’s equivalent of broke is enough for a rather comfortable life in Creation, so the tooth fairies are willing to leave their otherwise useless Creation-money in order to encourage people to give them the teeth they need to survive.)

Mortals are aware of basically none of this and simply believe they have two sets of teeth.
