((Have some Autobot NPCs, whee. I'm just making this up but if any RP partner would like, this story can weave into others.))
Beta stared up into the clouds. They were dark, presaging rain. Precipitation was the least of Beta's worries, but she didn't like it. It looked ominous. Like something was about to happen, and time was running out.
Exactly what's happening to us, Beta thought with a scowl.
She hadn't seen the Decepticon-controlled Cybertron. No one had. Anyone who got close died in short order.
And Megatron would come for Earth soon. As soon as he'd rebuilt -- perverted, Beta thought, air hissing through her vents -- Cybertron to his specifications, he'd no doubt cyberform Earth, too.
He'd almost done it once, after all. Despite the humans on its surface.
Which meant the only thing Beta and her team could do was get as many spacecraft ready to carry them off-world as possible -- and then leave themselves.
And go where? Beta wondered. The scientist on their team had assured her there were planets that supported organic life somewhere in this galaxy. But that was a slim hope. Were humans like all other organics, or would they land someplace with fuel the humans' fleshy little tanks couldn't process or something?
And she wasn't sure she wanted to play shepherd to Unicron's parasites forever either.
Forever, right. That assumes the 'Cons don't just find us and blow us all away.
Damn it. She couldn't think like that. The humans were innocents. Innocents the Prime had given up everything to protect.
If she didn't, she might doubt... and that would cost more lives than hers.
She shook her head, watched the big mechs on her team corral the tiny aliens onto the spaceships, and did her best to pretend no one would notice them taking off.
