Specifically Rumi is getting this talk from Minji while Celine stands there in the background falling deep deep in love with her (as Celine herself is, while watching, realizing from Minji’s completely chill attitude that honestly she was kind of making it weird and she admires how much Minji is not doing so at all)

And meanwhile Rumi’s just like whoa… we know so much shit know that’s fucking sick. While also feeling a little weird about casually discussing something “private” lol. And then someone introduces her to chocolate

It’s been a couple weeks someone has to have gotten their period by now

And for me it feels like they can’t possibly be that old! In my mind they’re still eight months old and haven’t experienced winter yet.

Because likely they are doing the Cheetah is part anti-hero/tragic villain who was Diana’s friend before ‘turning’ into the Cheetah.

But none of that precludes her from being the main antagonist? She doesn’t need Max Lord to give her her powers and engineer her descent into villainy.

Looking at the idea of the dual db!swap, the original deadbeat AU (or, at least the m!Celine version that became the main trunk) sort of rejected the idea of SLS reconciliation, but I wonder if being in a world where they're not so much deadbeat as literally dead (and, possibly, the opportunity to realize how much she's capable of loving Zoemira) would make db!Celine reconsider whether it's worth forgiving them. Turns out doing this mentor shit is really hard, and doing it alone is even worse! And for as long as she's been thinking how nice it would be to stop feeling tied to them, to stop being able to feel at the edge of her mind that they still exist out there, to stop seeing their voices threaded through the Honmoon, the reality of that absence might be... less freeing than she expected.

Yeah, I mean, I have memory of @fakelawyerbug talking somewhere (and he can correct me if I’m wrong here) about how Celine isn’t really… angry at them anymore. Rumi can do that, yeah, because she’s a teenager and being angry at the whole world is possible then, but as much as Celine’s not gonna reach out to two women who’ve spent years totally screwing her and her kid over, she’s not holding all of that. It’s exhausting

And I think she would have a lot of Feelings woken up by going into the main universe and definitely attempt some kind of reconciliation. The question is whether Miyeong and Third would start doing their part back, having not had a similar experience

(And, also, whether Rumi would put up with it)

Oh Bobby by a mile. Everyone else either has a good voice and, as much as there are some choices i think were wrong in hindsight, i had a solid grasp on… or they just didn’t exist in canon really lol

Whereas Bobby was both Extant Enough that it felt like i could really get him wrong and Minor Enough that it felt like I didn’t have a good understanding of his sound—and I’d seen a lot of uses of him in fandom as a dad figure who just… fixes everything that I was very wary of how it could be wrong. I was so glad to get another set of pronouns going on but oh boy did it cost

wrt the Saja Boys ask, Jinu's kind of boned in the original Mirrorverse, I think? The only reason he was able to sell his plan to Gwi-Ma in canon was that Huntrix had been so wildly successful at strengthening the Honmoon. Flame king's down there at the end of a six-year starvation diet looking at the very real possibility of a permanent seal in the next three months. Why not take a shot on a boyband?

But Sarang's not an idol, she can't really do what Rumi does even if she had any desire to. Whether she stays or goes, Zoemira are a man down on inspiring the world. They can hold the Honmoon together long enough to hand it to the next generation, but they're not going to threaten Gwi-Ma's food supply enough that Jinu has an in, the way Huntr/x did. He's just going to be down there strumming his bipa and hating himself until any human characters we care about are old and gray.

In the current near-canon Mirror thread I would expect it to play out like a less dramatic version of canon? Jinu can't use Rumi's secrecy against her since Zoemira know, but he's still going to try to parley to find out what her deal is, she's still going to give him a chance to be better. Kinda similar arc to the telepathy AU, probably.

I swear to God there's a legitimate Wondy curse that causes otherwise fantastic authors to just fucking faceplant as soon as they touch her book.

Right?! It’s bizarre. G. Willow Wilson seemed like a genuinely inspired choice for Wondy, and yet her run has been littered with meandering plots, fumbled mythology, some questionable characterisation and such embarrassingly hamfisted handling of social issues that she veers into self-parody. Half the time I swear she’d rather be writing the thrilling adventures of Waitress Girl and her mythical monster friends (who have somehow become pivotal characters that we’re expected to care deeply about, despite their being the least interesting and least developed characters in the book).

To be fair, the twice-monthly publishing schedule clearly hasn’t helped. Everything feels half-baked, from the writing to the art to the editing.
