Taemin is woken up by soft murmurs and gentle kissie noises and he grumbles, curling more into a ball under warm blankies and finding an arm to cling to. He went home with two babes from the club last night but he’s pretty sure that the arm he finds is Jonghyun’s because he can feel small specks and bigger stars of glitter on his skin.

“Mm? Oh. Right. Forgot about you.” A soft chuckle falls into his hair as Jonghyun turns and pulls the blankies off of Taemin’s upper half and nuzzles him. Taemin scrunches his face at the brightness but can’t say that he doesn’t appreciate the affection.

“Who? Is that.”

And that’s a voice that Taemin doesn’t recognize; they didn’t talk much last night but it definitely wasn’t Jonghyun’s light tone or Jinki’s honey smooth voice. He blinks his eyes open groggily and then snaps them open, startled, when he finds two more people peeping at him curiously from the foot of the bed. One is tall and soft with wavy black hair and the other is slightly less tall and pretty with a scar turning their right eyebrow into two points.

“Buh,” he says eloquently, pulling the covers up to his nose again. On the other side of Jonghyun, Jinki snorts.

“Uh, one night stand,” he says. “Can you get him a waffle too, maybe?”

A waffle? Taemin scoots up a little in bed to investigate as his nose finally registers the scent of breakfast. Jonghyun and Jinki each have a little tray in their lap full of heart shaped waffles and bacon and strawberries. He looks up at the other two people again; one of them has flour smudged on their cheek and the other is wearing an apron. Oh.

“How do you forget a one night stand while he’s still in bed with you?” the one with the scar asks. Jonghyun shrugs.

“Being surprised with breakfast in bed is a pretty good distraction, Kibum,” he says.

“Here, Tae,” Jinki says, and hands Taemin a strawberry. Taemin is very confused, but he still takes it and bites all the way up to the little leaves at once. Kibum rolls their eyes and the other person waves friendly at him. Taemin waves back with the hand holding the strawberry top.

“I can put chocolate chips in your waffle if you want,” they offer. “Also, I’m Minho. Hi.”

“Ooh,” Taemin says, and nods vigorously. He loves him some chocolate chips. “Hi. Please,” he says.

“Cute,” Kibum says, and pulls a napkin from Minho’s apron to hand to Taemin. Taemin puts his strawberry top on it and then puts it in his lap.

Kibum and Minho leave then, back to the kitchen Taemin guesses, and Jinki and Jonghyun stay with him in bed, giggling and explaining things to him as well as they can as he rubs his eyes and struggles to wake up all the way. Taemin still isn’t registering a lot and probably won’t until he’s finished eating and had a shower, but one thing he does understand is that he really wants to upgrade from a one night stand to actually dating all four of these lovely babes.

Hello :) Can you pinpoint the moment you started shipping TaeKai?

ahhh, that’s a hard one. i can’t really remember exactly which moment, but i do remember freaking out when i first saw this back in 2012! and i think from there on the w korea photoshoot happened (i’m still sad that none of those pics got released btw) and then i began reading taekai fics and have loved them ever since!
