I am of the mindset that most of the x-men should be a little weird. Speaking in cryptic poems or monologuing about esoteric ideas...except for Xavier, i think he should just be openly malicious and straightforward.
i think some of xavier's deal is that he isn't very straight-forward, in that he thinks he knows what's best for other people a lot, and then kind of manipulates people into doing what he thinks is best or otherwise hides information. i also think that like. xavier has good intentions. and those intentions are important because xavier is often sanctimonious and preachy. and his good intentions both allow him to maintain his appreciation for his own saintliness, and allow others to buy into it. i am actually personally of the opinion that xavier is one of the most likely x-men to speak in reference to poems or other art. idk if this is based in canon at all but i think its part of his paternalistic professorial vibe.i'm curious as to why you think xavier should be straight-forward!
i think various x-men having pet literary traditions or 'esoteric ideas' could be really fun! and good character beats.
