"GOD has a good sense of humor. Last night Christian Club hosted an even titled Awaken at the school in Rm. 601. This event has been a long time coming, long awaited for with anticipation and backed up with hours of rehearsing, planning, praying, fasting, advertising, discussing (etc.). One of the things we prayed for was for GOD to do something unexpected. Well, GOD answered our prayers. The electric company Edison decided to use last night to work on the school and the area surrounding it, therefore shutting down all the power. We were informed that the lights were to be back on by 5:00. The clearance was delayed and all power was restored by 6:30 EXCEPT FOR THE SCHOOL’S. It’s okay though, we had a plan B. A generator was hooked up to the sound system so that we can at least proceed with the night even without the house lights. 10 minutes into our set, the generator, which was supposed to last us a good 4 hours, shut down. Sometimes, GOD strips us of all our expectations and decides to show up with his own plan…and it was more than amazing. So after setting up three truckloads worth of equipment, we ended up using an acoustic guitar to worship in a dark auditorium with a couple lanterns here and there…And it was beautiful. Testimonies were shared and a powerful word was given to us through someone who received a spontaneous message. Even in the midst of confusion, disappointment, and frustration, we, as GOD’s people still stood firm, united, and came before HIM in humility and worshiped HIM. Even if Satan tried to bring us down with discouragement, we decided to Praise HIM and GOD still showed up and did what HE intended to do. I truly believe that what GOD was trying to get through to us was that HE wanted that night to be about HIM and HIM alone. Not about all the cool instruments and intricate songs, but about truly coming before HIM with a humble and sincere heart. It’s funny the way GOD does things, but HE is genuinely jealous for our attention and HE earnestly wanted us to just focus on HIM last night. If I learned anything from last night, it was that if we wholeheartedly want GOD’s will to be done, we have to be stripped of our own. And there’s nothing more beautiful than that. Amen. GODBLESS."
