"Io Bacio, Tu Baci" played on repeat in his head and poured out of his mouth in a drunken tangle of "mm"s, "ahh"s, and "ohhh"s. His mother used to love that song. She'd play it when she cleaned, and the instant Donovan Lewis heard caught it playing low in the background of that old bar, he knew it was time to go. Only, he hadn't gone in with anyone, and he left as alone. By the time Don showed up on the street he thought were his, he had a shallow gash on his forehead and another on his right elbow. The walk hadn't been an easy one - not for a man so plastered he'd barely remember the night - and it showed.
Bang. Bang. Bang.
"H E Y..." The slurred exclamation hardly sounded like a real word. "Come on, man!" Don tried the handle again. Locked. It never occurred to him that the door he knocked on didn't look like his buddy's at all.
