If anyone remembers I raved about the 2017 vintage and then Rob went off and collected Young Gun of Wine 2018, clearly I wasn’t the only one impressed! This vintage is better so if you love amazing Rhine blends get your hands on this one. My notes: @aphelionwine The Affinity. GMS 2018 Blueberry and mulberries coupled with violets, savoury notes, chocolate & Vanilla. Soft and supple, completely mouth filling. Refreshing acid and the tannins are imperceptible (again!). The palate delivers plums, chocolate, meaty flavours and bucket loads of blue fruit and blackberries at the very end. Great finish. This is a step up again from the 2017 vintage, Rob has certainly delivered.
