Name 7 comfort films and tag 7 people.
Thanks for the tag @thealternatemind and i tag you @breakthestrutura. These are just the first that came to mind (or recent gifsets on my dash reminded me of). It was weirdly hard to think of seven movies.
1. 10 Things I Hate About You - I watch it every single time it’s on tv, which is often. The epitome of comfort and nostalgia for me.
2. Dirty Dancing - When I was 7 and my sister was 14 she would torture me with this movie, sometimes she’d watch it more than once a day. But these days I genuinely enjoy it and stop to watch a little whenever it’s on.
3. She’s the Man - Amanda Bynes, I miss you.
4. Practical Magic - Preteen me had a love for anything about witches so I watched this one a lot. Still love it. Still kinda have a thing for witches.
5. Take the Lead - My friends and I loved dance movies, but I think this is my favorite. I always wanted to learn to dance so I liked the teaching aspect of this one. I watch the two tango scenes often.
6. The Perks of Being A Wallflower - I read the book first and thought it was only okay, so I didn’t have high hopes for the movie. But I love this one so much. I don’t have a lot Charlie’s specific problems, but I relate to him a lot, to the point where some of my breakdowns have looked a lot like his towards the end of the movie. And instead of ever being triggering, it’s weirdly comforting in that way you know you’re not alone. It feels like in the last few years i find movies to be only pretty good, kinda funny, just okay. I haven’t really fell in love with a movie at first watch in years, not the way i did the first time I watched this. When will I love something as much again?
((but! I will say again, I actually really liked Sleeping With Other People so much that I watched it again the next day. THE NEXT DAY. I literally never do that. I’m just saying, give it a chance if you haven’t, even though I don’t really expect people to like it as much as I did. But It’s the first time since Perks I felt even a fraction of that enjoyment of instantly loving a movie. anyway.))
7. Penelope - I’ve been talking about this movie basically since 2007 and haven’t shut up about it yet. Sorry. But nobody else talks about it or seems to have seen it or love it as much as I do. It’s just a sweet, colorful fairytale, and it basically introduced me to James McAvoy and Sigur Ros.
