He waved off the apology, smile becoming more genuine as Michael talked. Despite his nervousness... he absolutely agreed. Spending time with his friend would be absolutely wonderful. He spread out his wings. "Are you ready to go? Er," He paused awkwardly. He supposed he should give Michael at least a little warning about everything he had done for Yule. "I hope you like cookies. I didn't realize how much I was baking."
Michael glanced over at Uriel's wings--the light powder was obvious on his dark wings--with a small smile. It was fairly obvious that Uriel had been baking, but Michael had no clue what it was--until now. Cookies? Well, it would be interesting to see.
"I'm ready." Michael said, stepping outside and spreading his wings as well.
A smile found its way onto his face as Michael opened the door, only for it to falter slightly when he saw the other. Michael... didn't look ready at all. Had he even remembered that they were going to spend Yule together? He kept the smile on his face while his mood sunk. He had been looking forward to this day for a bit now, but now Michael was going to walk into his house and see all the work he had put in... Uriel hoped Michael didn't think he was too pathetic. "Er... no. Just come as is."
Michael blushed slightly as he caught the falter in Uriel's smile. He did look like quite a mess, and Uriel probably was thinking that he had forgotten about their plans! He hadn't, not really. He just... had been a little preoccupied.
"Sorry," Michael said, smiling sheepishly. "It'll be... very nice to get away from things."
Uriel knocked on Michael's door, wings fluttering nervously behind him. He had spent the whole morning preparing his home for spending the day with Michael. He was pretty sure he still had some traces of powdered faboan in his wings from all the baking he'd been doing, but at the moment he didn't care. Mostly he just hoped that Michael was ready, and hadn't changed his mind about spending Yule with him.
Michael opened the door, looking very much like he had forgotten about Yule entirely. Ink was over his hands and bags under his eyes. He had been pulling a late night, catching up on work while other things wouldn't be piling on him.
"Uriel," he said, almost sounding surprised before remembering why the other Archangel had come to the door. "Ah!" he said softly, his face lighting up slightly.
"Sorry, I, erm..." Michael trailed off, glancing at himself before back at Uriel. "Do I need to bring anything?"
His grip finally relaxed at Michael's smile as he returned it, unable to keep the excited look out of his eyes. Maybe his fears had been a little unbased, but it was still a relief that Michael wanted to spend Yule with him. "Perfect!" He grinned. "What time would you like to come over? Or would you prefer I go to your house?"
Michael frowned. He disliked planning for his days off. "I'd prefer to go to your house, if you don't mind... perhaps you can pick me up when you're ready? It is your house, after all."
He didn't relax when Michael seemed to, instead gripping the door handle. No plans! That was.. at least a good thing, but it also meant that it would make it that much more awkward for Michael to decline his offer, if he did. A tiny bit of heat rose to his cheeks--something he did his best to ignore. "I.. I was just wondering if you would be willing to spend Yule with me? I also had no plans.."
The Angel gave Uriel a curious look--he seemed to be flustered by whatever he was about to ask. However, Michael's face lightened up at the question. "I'd love to!" he replied with a wide grin. The idea sounded wonderful--Michael had almost forgotten about Yule completely, but spending the day with Uriel sounded like it would be a good use of the day.
Uriel watched Michael get up from his desk, feeling slightly bad. The other Archangel had paper everywhere on his desk. He was so busy.... would he even /want/ to spend an entire day with Uriel? "Er.. it is not work related," The redhead said awkwardly. He should have thought this through more.. but he had already interrupted Michael's work.. "It is only... um.. do you have plans for Yule?"
Not work related? Michael relaxed. That was more than a small relief--if Uriel had brought news of something, that would have been...unpleasant.
The question Uriel did ask, however, was surprising. "Yule?" Michael repeated, raising his eyebrows. "Not, er, particularly, I suppose... why?"
