Toshio had his nose buried so deeply in a vast collection of Chinese poetry that it took the nervous giggling of many small children accompanied by several thumps to pull him from the depths of literary enlightenment. His forehead creasing into an anxious line he closed the book with a snap and stalked over to where the commotion was coming from, a complaint already forming on his lips. There, on one of the antique sliding ladders that made this small library so famous, was a white trench coat-wearing buffoon, sliding back and forth. The writer noticed with a jolt that the figure was wearing a gas mask, and Toshio would have thought that he was a terrorist had he not been behaving like such an idiot.

Stalking over to where the figure had momentarily stopped, it took all of his restraint to not throw the anthology he was holding right at the other.

"You!" He snapped, trying to inject as mush strength as he could into his voice. "G….get down from th-there! You’re really making an....a-an unbearable amount of noise." For good measure he shot a nasty glare at the small cluster of children, which made them all go silent.
