Workplace Harmony
After exploring different workplace cultures, I’ve come to appreciate how diverse and impactful they can be. At Rafael Viñoly Architects, where I’m currently an extern, I’ve observed a culture that stands out for its supportive and dedicated atmosphere.
A standout moment for me was when I was in the office late one evening—around 6 PM—and someone started playing the piano. The energy in the office was so vibrant and refreshing that it felt like the start of a new day. This blend of dedication and a lively, supportive environment makes it a workplace where creativity and enthusiasm truly flourish.
The MET - Workplace of transcending time
On our first day, I was not only impressed by the stunning monuments surrounding me, but also by the delicate and thoughtful way that architecture engaged with the space. Walking through the MET was an emotional journey as we witnessed the story of the world unfold before our eyes. Every space was meticulously designed to transport me back in time, from the materials to the lighting and even the sounds. This experience confirmed for me that architecture does more than just provide a space for people to interact, explore, and experience. Architecture is also the keeper of the stories of the past and the future.

Hi, I am Alana Montemayor, I am currently enrolled in my Bachelors of Archietcture degree at The BAC. I am originally from Monterrey, Mexico, an industrial city in the north of Mexico. Growing up I always knew that I wanted to be in the field of design and architecture.
In my free time, I really enjoy photography especially taking pictures of buildings from different perspectives. I am also really into running and have done several half marathons. I am very excited for this week to come!
