The Humanae Vitae is an important document written in 1968 by Pope Paul VI. This was written in response to the lift of the ban on contraception in 1966. Humanae Vitae is Latin for ‘Of Human Life’. The Humanae Vitae made artificial contraception within the Catholic Church evil and sinful once again. This created a divide within the Catholic Church because many couples wanted to continue to use contraceptives and did not think it was sinful.
The video attached will explain what the Humanae Vitae is and how it affected the Catholic people of this time.
