I find myself taking pictures of things that would have never been acceptable in my life in #TheBeforeTimes I would not have had the patience or tollerance to deal with it. Now, I take a pic, say, it is what it is, and realign to what I feel is more important. I find making a nice woodstock is very satisfying, and it brings a feeling of accomplishment. Last year, I had not time nor inclination. Now, the mess is in cue, and will have it's time and day. I have been lax on participating in @adventword, last year being particularly hard for a number of reasons. This year, things will be different, and it begins with a #Promise. So what does a United States Passport have to do with the first #adventword of 2021. Well, it has everything to do with my mom. In #TheBeforeTimes, my wife @pjballantine and I made a deal with my mom to take her to #NewZealand so she could enjoy a little adventure overseas. I was really having a worry that my mom was going to put this off until the very last moment. Then, on arriving for #thanksgivingdinner this weekend, my mom proudly showed off to me and my #Kiwi wife her brand new passport. This is the value in keeping a promise. It gives us #hope. It offers is a #goal to strive for. It builds or reinforces #trust. Promises, like words, have impact, especially when carried out; so promises should never be given lightly. It is a test of character—and a test of #faith—when you make a promise as it says a lot about you in making it happen. Mom kept her part of the deal. Now it is up to Pip and me to uphold our promise.
