☝️ Tap my muse on the shoulder [From Abby - she's probably holding something Morgan dropped, or something]

At the strange, unsolicited finger that bumped against her shoulder, Morgan’s feet froze mid-walk. A tide of panic washed over her as her mind rushed to find a reason, a justification for so inconvenient a touch.
Was she in trouble? Maybe someone had recognised her face — a person’s face did not have to be plastered everywhere for them not to be exactly anonymous and anonymity could never be enjoyed to the fullest when you were one of those wealthy individuals. Similarly, the most aggressive kind of action did not solely constitute violence, and a tap on the shoulder could serve as a prelude for brutality.
Things were hardly so extreme and a woman could never be too careful in most situations, a lonely promenade in the streets being one of them.
Or, maybe, this random contact was just that, random, casual, no reason to fret over. A person might be in need of assistance. The spectre of possibility was a wide one.
Morgan would not find out unless she turned around to face the stranger, learn their looks and their intentions, so she did, thus coming face to face with a blonde woman who did not seem to be either friend or foe. Whatever the reason behind her boldness, it had to be a practical one.
❝ Oh? ❞ To take a good look up and down the lady’s physique would have been rude, so it was lucky Morgan’s eyes fell directly onto her hands; hands that held a clutch very similar to the one Morgan carried.
Except she was carrying none.
This was her own clutch, no doubt, and the practical reason the tapping on her shoulder was the best kind of drive: kindness.
There were many arguments as to why the woman should not return Morgan her clutch. It held free money inside. It was a quality item that could be resold should it not match the finder’s aesthetic – or be seen as a freebie, if it did. It was, easily, the comfortable way out.
But there was only one reason why it should be returned: because it was the right thing.
Morgan smiled and extended her hand with an open palm to take the item in and thanked the woman with a honeyed hush and a smile. It was gestures such as this that fed her hope for the world. It was what she advocated.
