ok. i really love this little bit from the first chapter of work and play (the no love sequel):
Peace was following Will inside and hearing his keys rattle in the small bowl beside the door that he’d dropped them into. Peace was taking a seat on one of the barstools at the island and watching as Will dug through one of the lower cabinets in search of one specific pot or pan, listening to metal clatter against metal. Peace was hearing the music that came from Will’s phone speaker, the sound of dry pasta spilling across the countertop when Will accidentally tipped the box over, the echoes of their laughter as they tried to unwind after a long day. Nico had never known peace before Will.
im also very proud of this interaction from doctor, doctor, give me the news (the peds au):
[From: Jason; and he’s not going to fuck you, dude] Nico choked on his next inhale. [To: Jason; I never said ANYTHING like that!] How could he think that Nico would even want that? He hated Will! He would rather have never met the man! He was a nuisance around the office, he made everyone’s lives more difficult, and he had no right being as cheerful as he was so early in the morning. There was nothing about him to like, and Nico would honestly rather die than let Will get that close to him! [From: Jason; Good. Apollo’s too old for you, anyway] Oh. Oh, that was very not good.
