The Black Prism by Brent Weeks [Review]

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5 stars)

My fiance insisted that we listen to this audiobook during our two hour road trip, and me wanting to:

1. Get more into audiobooks, 

2. Wanting to make him happy by listening to his favorite series, I obliged. I instantly fell in love with it.

The magic system is so unique and interesting. The amount of depth the author put into his system is phenomenal, and yet it still makes perfect sense.

As a writer, I admire Weeks for his ability to describe fights, emotions, and everything in between when an explanation is necessary and in a way that can be easily understood. That being said, I would kill to be able to write imagry into my stories as well as he can.

I ended up buying the entire series and I can't wait to listen to them all.
