these r for a modern au just bc that’s what i think abt the most but a lot of them are applicable to other AUs probably? anyway
theon has a hard time being physically affectionate unless he’s really upset (like, panic attack/triggered/back from a family gathering type of miserably upset) and then he Needs it but jon has to like, ask, obviously, to make sure theon’s ok w/being touched but jon always tries to ask in a sort of, unobtrusive way in case theon’s still feeling too prickly, so he kind of does half finished questions like “can i--?” and “do you want--?” and reaching out and if theon doesn’t move away jon moves closer slowly and snugs that boy. theon kinda starts winding his hands in jon’s shirt like twisting the fabric after a while
but theon kinda craves human contact, esp w/his BF, like. sometimes he initiates sex less bc he wants the sex itself and more just bc he wants to be close but can’t ask for it. if jon thinks that’s the case he tries to like, keep it to smooching and petting and maybe gradually lets it trail off so they’re just, you know, already in bed together and all tangled up, why move?
jon tries to be as accommodating as he can be with some of theon’s hang-ups, like that. like he knows that theon’s got that dichotomy of craving things he sees as ‘feminine’ while also having the damndest time letting himself have them, so jon like... makes excuses, so that theon can do it. like, bubble baths is a good example. somehow it comes up that theon’s literally never in his life (that theon REMEMBERS, anyway) had a bubble bath and jon’s like thinking abt it and he figures theonw ould really like it because like--theon loves decadence and ncie smelling htings and theon also REALLY LOVES WARM STUFF so jon’s like trying to figure out how he can make an excuse for them to do a bubble bath together. and eventually what he comes up with is that like “someone gave me this bubble bar and i’m really curious about how it works, it smells like cloves and cedar take a bath with me” and theon gets to like pretend to be all reluctant like god jon WHY etc etc but he is. secretly delighted. and jon is pleased. Bath Time becomes a thing at some point bc jon has a real bad back (his muscles are like KNOTS EVERYWHERE) and theon loves hot baths and it’s a good excuse to lie around and snuggle
so yeah jon likes giving theon an excuse to get to do the kind of ~feminine~ stuff he feels like he isn’t allowed to do, once jon figures out that’s a Thing.
jon is a lot less accommodating with like, theons need to feel macho tho. bc jon’s always rolling his eyes about that. like he’ll tolerate it to a point but he won’t enable it and he’ll like openly roll his eyes about it (unless he feels like theon especially Needs To as a sorta, emotional crutch). he sometimes makes snide remarks abt it but doesn’t usually try and argue abt it bc god knows they argue enough abt things and jon picks his battles. theon Does Not pick his battles bc theon has this thing where little stuff matters to him ALMOST AS MUCH as big stuff so it’s like a seriously upsetting thing that jon like... idk... didn’t read his mind about something lol. or got mad at him for smt theon thought would make him happy. so theon’s kind of incapable of picking his battles.
they adopt a dog together she’s a french bulldog rescue with a cleft palate and her name is admiral cannonball. they call her the admiral and they taught her how to salute back when they salute at her. it’s not REALLY a salute it’s just her sitting and raising her little arm but it counts. she is a naughty stinker of a dog she is willful and stubborn and theon spoils her rotten, to jons despair...
theon doesnt let the dogs up on the bed and jon... normally... agrees with that but sometimes hes a soft touch for the dogs and the dogs know it, theon will come home to jon conked out with ghost, smiler, and the admiral all on the bed with him... they might or might not have climbed up after jon was asleep. they kno better than to do it when theons there tho... they all look at him guiltily except the admiral who is never in trouble bc shes theons favorite

It would appear so. I haven’t kept track of these things, but it’s an official statement so I’m going with it. Maybe they’ll change their mind some day, who knows.
