Who? What? Where? When?
The Burning Deck began life in the little home studio of bassist Sandeep Madhavan (Old Jungle Saying, The Ticker Tapes) in the later half of 2012. With influences that spanned everything from 70s prog-rock and jazz fusion to the Bristol sound of the 90s, while assimilating elements of drum n bass, dubstep and Asian underground, the sound was always going to be out-of-the-box.
Released on April 12th 2013, Kalinihta marks the beginning of a fresh new sound, built on darkness and cinematic voyages, resulting in interesting sound sculptures and soundtracks.
The present line-up of The Burning Deck features Sandeep Madhavan on bass/ electronics, Bharath Kumar on keyboards, Yadhunandan Nagaraj on drums and Katie Mackay on trumpet/vocals.

A little bit of what goes into the making of our live sound. In the jam room. Way too many wires.

The Burning Deck began as a home studio experiment in Richmond Town, Bangalore, India between Sandeep Madhavan and Floyd Santimano. Eight months later, the album is complete. Filled with voyages of sonic wizardry and tales of woe.
