I've been meaning to ask, are there any non-American tourists in DC anymore? I've seen you say the Guard is still posted up so I'm wondering who is even showing up? Are tourists in general still bothering with the National Mall, free museums, etc?
Oh for sure, they're still around. There has been a decline in international tourism in DC ever since Trump took office and the National Guard showed up, but the decline is relatively small and basically just took the level of international tourism from "very high" down to "high." What's interesting is that international tourism actually dropped less here last year than it did nationwide, probably because foreign tourists are generally nervous about entering the US but see a DC trip as more worth the risk than a lot of other tourist attractions.
