Indieket Delight
Nautilus Comics is attending Indieket (August 2, 2014) as a sponsor!
As we have been spreading, Cast is out of hiatus and will be releasing their latest sequel Cast 12: Catharsis this July 19. So why is Cast 12 special in Indieket if people can buy it at book stores and comic shops?
THIS is why. Harvey Tolibao has designed a special cover for Cast 12 and is only available in EVENTS. If you will be missing the launch event on July 19, the only other time you have access to this cover gem is on August 2, Indieket.
Still not enough for you? I know many would forego attending Indieket this year BUT if you are an Arnold Arre fan with incomplete set of his graphic novels, you may want to circle this date in your calendars...
If you have been viewing The Cast Comic's Facebook page, you'd find this little teaser:
Arnold Arre fans have already guessed at which graphic novel this is hinting at. No more guessing! Nautilus Comics is reprinting "Trip to Tagaytay"! Get this classic short graphic novel in Indieket!
Trip to Tagaytay will be available at the Nautilus Comics booth. For those who do not know the graphic novel, here is a synopsis:
"Trip to Tagaytay is a futuristic, sci-fi graphic novel written and illustrated by Arnold Arre. Trip to Tagaytay is, in comparison to Arre’s other titles, a short graphic novel with only 44 pages whereas Ang Mundo ni Andong Agimat, the second graphic novel with the least number of pages has 220 pages. Despite the fact that Trip to Tagaytay is a short comic story, its story packs a punch and won a Manila Critics Circle National Book Award in September 2000.
Trip to Tagaytay is set in the far future where science has really evolved to literally reaching the stars. Popular actor Aga Mulach is the residing president, the popular band the Eraserheads are on a reunion tour that spans the stars, and the Philippine Space Lines is offering citizens to Moon Travel with 50 percent off of course. The story follows a young man on his journey through the city towards the Grand Liwayway Station where the Tagaytay Ocean Tunnel connecting to Cebu is available. Furthermore, throughout his journey, he is composing a message addressed to his love who lives far away in Orbital Space Station."
