This was meant to be a quick warm up, but it turned into a comic that I’ve wanted to draw for a while. This is something that is extremely important to me, and I appreciate it if you read it.
A while ago, I heard a story that broke my heart. A family went a cat shelter to adopt. The daughter fell in love with a 3-legged cat. The father straight up said “absolutely not”. Because he was missing a leg. That cat was that close to having a family that loved him, but the missing leg held him back. Why?!
Many people have the initial instinct of “nope” when they see an imperfect animal. I get it, but less-adoptable does NOT mean less loveable. 9 out of 10 people will choose a kitten over an adult cat. And those 10% that would get an adult cat often overlook “different” animals.
All I want people to do is be open to the idea of having a “different” pet in their lives. Choose the pet that you fall in love with, but at least give all of them a fair shot at winning your heart.
Don’t dismiss them, they deserve a loving home just as much as any other cat. They still purr, they still love a warm lap, they still play, they still love you. Trust me, next time you are in the market for a new kitty, just go over to that one cat that’s missing an eye and see what he’s all about!
I love how the comics is laid out as a story to warm your heart!

Been wondering what Cast 12 is about? Watch this! Available in Indieket for P100 (2 variant covers available by Jhomar Soriano and Harvey Tolibao)
Whoops. I should have looked at their tumblr. Still I’m pretty excited that they’re selling cast comics again. Ahh. (Here’s hoping I’d have the time to go. Or that I have the luggage space for it. Urk.)
Yey! We hope you do :)
The circled spot is Nautilus Comics' booth in Indieket!!! Stop by and say hi!
Lel has finally realized who her rival for Joe’s heart is. The closeness of the proximity of the rival, and her acquaintance with the rival, gets rid of much of the bitterness, actually, soon into the realizing. Nonetheless, Lel needs the acceptance and the closure, and walks up to Joe for her...
Thanks EK! :)
Looking for Private Iris? Case solved.
Private Iris is written by Jamie Bautista and initially drawn by Arnold Arre. Later, the Jimenez brothers became the main artists for the series. The series is targeted for children, pre-teens, and teenagers but is loved by people of all ages. So far, Private Iris has 19 comic books.
Private Iris is the smartest girl in town. Sounds great but she earned the title "Private Iris" because she is very private and secretive, even downright described as anti-social. Along with the title of Private Iris, she is described as weird.
Now how in the world would she want to help others by solving their mysteries? Now comes Danton, the most popular boy in MacGuffin Plains. Danton is Iris' only companion and side-kick and usually is the one nudging Iris to solve the cases for other people with the intention of getting other people to see how awesome Iris really is. (This ticks off Iris more often than not though).
Catch her super sleuth skills in action by reading Private Iris comic books. P100 per book and is available in Indieket at the Nautilus Comics booth!
The special edition Private Iris case: Circus Freak. It has a scene sketch of the animated version of Private Iris only showcased during their events. Also has 3-D glasses and 3-D pages.
The Arre Files. The box contains the cases that Arnold Arre drew - Case 1 - 6. Actually, Case 1 is out of stock, the only way to get Case 1 now is by buying the Arre files.
