but ya in the end maki swoons the most when nico is unintentionally suave usually when she’s simply being sincere like “eh?? did that really fluster you? i guess it’s not so bad being honest and straightforward if i get to see a cute bluahy face like that more often!”
who cooks normally?: Nico cooks for Rin all the time. Rin is a big eater, and there’s nothing she loves more than Nico’s cooking. Though Nico will never openly admit it, seeing the ravenous way Rin eats her food absolutely delights her, and she has to fight down a big, dumb grin when she watches Rin wolf down what was given to her and then ask for seconds.
how often do they fight?: They don’t get into huge fights a lot, but they are two very different people, so when they do fight, it’s usually because of their conflicting personalities. Like Rin is very high energy most of the day, and that can rly tire Nico out. And Rin sometimes feels that Nico is too closed off and doesn’t care as much. It can be hard for them to work it out, but they always manage. As their relationship progresses, they learn more about each other, and the fights don’t happen as often.
what do they do when they’re away from each other?: Rin is one of those people who has tons of friends, so when Nico is away, she surrounds herself with friends so she won’t be sad. Nico doesn’t have the same net of support that Rin does, so being separated from Rin can be rly hard on her. But Rin understands this and sends her funny pics throughout the day to cheer her up.
nicknames for each other?: Because of her speech impediment, Rin ends up calling Nico “Nico nya” and it sticks. It becomes a sort of joke between the two since it’s kinda like a play on Nico’s catchphrase/ nickname she’s given herself, and it’s a playful jab at her own speech patterns. Nico accidentally called Rin “kitten” one time, and Rin never let her live it down. Nico never calls her nicknames in public, but she’ll occasionally slip out kitten because she likes the dopey smile on Rin’s face when she says it.
who is more likely to pay for dinner?: They don’t go out to eat very often since Nico cooks, but when they do, Nico usually pays. Rin blows all her pocket money away on arcade games, so Nico is the only one who can afford it. Though she doesn’t rly mind it cause she loves going out on dinner dates with Rin and they don’t get to very often.
who steals the covers at night?: Nico would if she were given the opportunity, but Rin is so clingy at night that she’s basically Nico’s unofficial set of covers. Rin will sprawl her body across poor lil Nico, so Nico rly has no need for blankets.
what would they get each other for gifts?: Rin is a dumb cutie and her version of gifts are things she finds. Like if she’s out somewhere and she finds a pretty flower, she will pick it and bring it home to give to Nico who thinks this is the cutest thing ever. Nico likes to save up to buy Rin things that Rin can’t buy because she sucks at saving money. So she’ll save up for the newest Pokemon game or something, and Rin thinks she is a goddess on Earth cause she’s always getting rly cool things.
who remembers things?: Nico remembers practical things that Rin never pays attention to, but when it comes to small details about her gf, Rin remembers things far more. It actually shocks Nico cause there will be days where Rin will do things like drag Nico to some obscure spot it town to have a picnic because she remembered it from a story about Nico’s childhood or something.
who cusses more?: Nico cusses a lot more, but that never rly becomes apparent because she’s so used to toning it down around her siblings. Her friends expected her to revert back too cussing when she moves in with Rin, but it never happens because Rin is basically a child at heart and Nico feels weird about saying bad things in front of her.
what would they do if the other one was hurt?: Rin gets hurt a lot which makes Nico worry, but she gets that Rin is a very strong individual physically, so she never gets too anxious when Rin gets hurt. She’s more anxious when she knows Rin is about to go do something that could end up with her hurt. When Nico gets hurt, Rin is very concerned and she wants to do anything she can to help make it better. She will sit by Nico’s side and wait until Nico asks her to go get something for her.
who kissed who first?: Going off my hc from my previous post, Nico is the first to kiss Rin. After Rin confesses that she thinks she might love her, Nico gets hit with this impulse and just grabs Rin and kisses her. When she pulls back, Nico asks Rin if her feelings are any clearer, and Rin just nods and initiates the second kiss.
who made the first move?: Technically it was Rin. She sat Nico down one day after they finished practicing for after school navigators and told Nico she thought she loved her but wasn’t sure because she didn’t know what love felt like.
who started the relationship?: They kinda made out after Rin talked about her feelings, so they both decided that they wanted to date each other. They started it together.
Who holds the umbrella when it rains: Maki holds it when it rains because if Nico holds it, they’re gonna get wet and Maki really is not about that. Not only is Nico horrible at holding umbrellas, she can’t keep it straight, but she’s also too short to be of any use. Nico gets miffed but she doesn’t say anything because she knows if she complains, Maki will leave without her and she will have no umbrella.Who is the grumpiest in the morning: Maki is a morning person so she’s always up at ungodly hours in the early morning. Nico isn’t super grumpy when she wakes, but she will not speak to Maki without getting some coffee in her first.Who worries more when the other is sick/hurt: They both worry a lot about each other when the other isn’t feeling up to par, but it affects Maki more deeply than Nico. Having three younger siblings, Nico is used to having to take care of them, but Maki is an only child so the extent of what she knows of sick/hurt people comes from her experiences with her family’s hospital. Basically she’s like that person who freaks out when they look up physical pain on the internet and reads that it might be cancer.Who plays pranks on the other: Pls it’s Nico. Spending time with Rinpana gave Nico lots of ideas for pranks. Maki tolerates them because she loves Nico a whole lot, but every once and a while Nico manages to push her buttons. Nico lives for those moments cause Maki will angrily chase her around the house and it’s really funny to see Maki break her chill exterior.Who is always the first to suggest cuddling on the sofa: Much to Nico’s surprise, Maki is very cuddly. In public, Maki doesn’t like being affectionate, but in private, she almost demands attention and affection. They lie down on the couch and Maki rests her head on Nico’s shoulder. She wraps her arms around Nico’s torso as Nico strokes her hair. They lay like this whenever they watch movies.Who insists on creating nicknames for the other: Nico. She makes a huge list of potential nicknames for Maki and she alternates between them. Maki is relatively neutral to them. She allows Nico to call her by whatever nickname she chooses but only in private. Maki gets really embarrassed when Nico says her nickname in front of friends.Who drools on the other when they’re asleep: Nico is so drooly. And since Nico likes to lean against Maki when she’s sleeping, that drool gets on Maki’s clothes. But Maki as learned to accept her fate and after a while it doesn’t bother her anymore.Who says “I love you” first: Maki says it first and it was completely unintentional. It came out in the midst of one of their arguments and everyone in Muse heard it. Maki fled right after but Nico pursued and returned her feelings.
