Roxy was happy to actually have a full night of sleep. She felt so refreshed. Roxy slowly took a shower and got ready for a nice day in her penthouse apartment. She put on comfy slacks and a loose t-shirt. There was no one to empress after all. Lazily she put a k-cup in her coffee maker and waited for some much needed caffeine. The second she brought her lips to the cup, she heard a knock on the door. Roxy had no friends and no one knew she was here.
“One minute,” she called.
Roxy set down her cup of coffee and ran back to the bedroom to grab her demon knife just in case. She placed it in the side of the pajama waistband and went confidently to the door. Her face fell when she saw what was there. There was a strange looking man and a child. A child? Oh no this is not mine. I’m careful thank you. I have no lost children and I’m adopting any. The man seemed to be able to read minds because he gave Roxy a rather surly look.
“You know if you’d tell me why you’re here, I wouldn’t have to guess. Who are you?”
“The archangel Michael this is Lucifer. You must protect him. I… There’s no where to turn. You can protect him. You have powers and the skills needed. There’s a war…”
That was when Roxy noticed the gash and the blood spots on his clothes. The angel in front of her seemed to be wounded. Roxy knew a lot of things but stuff about angels wasn’t her forte. And to watch a kid? She didn’t know anything about kids. The angel must have sensed her resistance because a few seconds later he was gone and the kid was on her doorstep.
“What am I daycare?” she yelled at the air.
Roxy looked at the small child that literally had no where to go. He was probably scared and maybe hungry. Groaning that after all these year, after all the killing and torturing she still had emotions control her.
Roxy looked down the hallway and saw nothing there and felt no presence.
“Good we don’t need any other visitors”, she said before she closed the door behind her.
