If Milly was any kind of animal, Tolya would have to think that she would be companion animal, or maybe a horse. She’s capable and hard working, friendly, stubborn, and loyal.

Aconite and amaranth?

Aconite - What are your muses thoughts on their own species in general? Do they believe in inherent goodness of them? Generally self-serving? Etc?

Vince’s thoughts on people as a whole are currently pretty warped to accommodate his delusion.

He believes that people are inherently good, and should he face something that threatens this stance too badly, can do some real mental gymnastics to hold onto it.  Barring someone threatening or hurting another person, he will go out of his way to rationalize a person’s bad behaviors even if he personally doesn’t like them.

He does believe that things as they are have been thrown off because there are certain beings that have been been put in place among people as basically conduits for human(?) suffering. People who are basically ‘ruiners’ or snakes among Eden who are inherently dangerous (if not malicious) bad luck.To continue that metaphor, he simplifies morality by just blaming the serpent/s for man’s misdeeds.

People? Unsettling and delicate to interact with, but overall good. He views most races of human/oid people in this same way.

Amaranth - If offered immortality, would your muse take it? For what reasons would or wouldn’t they, and under what conditions would it take to change whatever their answer is?

ABSOLUTELY not. He knows he isn’t meant to live as long as the average person, and as long as he can get himself to a point where he can feel justified in his goals and life’s purpose, he doesn’t want to have infinite time in the world to backslide.

As of mainverse, the big exception to that would be if he thought his time was coming and he still didn’t feel like he’s done what he needs to. That ‘I need more time’ ‘I need to fix this’ will just intensify more and more if he feels he’s running out of time, to the point he may accept the idea of immortality out of desperation.

I think I described a horror scenario once where Vince wished that nothing could die, and just. Imagine if nothing at all right down to bacteria, could. Real Bad.

Dragon

Dragon: If you had a superpower, what would it be?

He has a suitable response to this almost immediately.

“Imagine.” He starts, looking up with a complete focus. “Instead of to be invincible, you-you can make other people..invincible.” A quick, sharp gesture of his hands emphasizes his certainty. “No-no going from injuries, no sickness, no, no killing.”

That’s it.  “Or to. To take pain from them!” Or both. Both! A solution to suffering, something noble.

It really would be something noble.

How does Tolya feel about sweets? I realize this is kind of a silly question but I’m curious considering Tolya’s backstory.

While the taste of sugar is and always will be an unpleasant thing that they can’t parse properly because of their race, lightly sweetened but rich foods like some ice creams for example, are more tolerable. 

There was a point that they would choke down sweets that were offered to them purely out of fear of being rude or wasteful, but at this point it’s much easier for them to decline.

“Quiet?” Milly cocked her head to the side, a thoughtful pout on her face

“ Well. Not much ‘round to make noise since I’m the only one here” But Tolya knew that didn’t they? They’d been here before. It wasn’t anything new that it was quiet here.  

He was talking about something else, but what?

“ Why the long face sugar?” Hopefully she could figure out what he was talking about without looking like a fool.

“And. You’re used to it? Still I-I just. Don’t know how-hhow  you can be used to it..” A gesture with their hands to emphasize. “Quiet always. Always?.” 

They know that for them, getting used to being alone in the way she is was impossible. If it ever became comfortable, it was more in the way that a dreamless sleep is. Still empty and leaving too much space for thoughts to spiral.

No, they never got used to being that kind of alone.

‘Long face’. Mm. Is their concern really showing that strongly? She’s so sensitive to their moods, always picking up little things that really don’t matter. Shouldn’t matter.  They’re here to see her, not to complain.

They force that smile back to their face as they look up at her again.

“Ssswitch with me? For a day?”
