Juli!! I hope this isn’t weird, but I’m so happy you’ve been playing VLR, and I just recently beat 999…I finally got into the series and I’ve been kinda dicking around with VLR…gonna pick it up again soon though (because I’m so excited for the newest one especially!) I’m so tempted to just follow your VLR journey and see what happens…lmao. No but I was gonna ask, do you think the endings system is better than 999? Or I wonder if I should follow a “tentative” ending list walkthrough? I'm curious!

Aaaaa, that’s awesome! I’m happy you enjoyed 999, it truly is a fantastic game!

Regarding the endings of VLR, they may seem like a lot more (well, they are, matter of fact), but once you start getting the hang of it, it goes pretty fast!

You know how VLR has the whole Ally/Betray mechanic? In my opinion, if you’re just starting it is much more fun to just do whatever you feel like it, without following any guides. That way, finding out your fave character has betrayed you is much more shocking and fun!

But then after a while I’d recommend following some spoiler-free ending guide. There are a lot of endings that are locked, and you have to play another one then come back to them, so a guide might be useful. I asked my best friend to give me a list of endings to do, but she didn’t tell me which character’s ending it was, just the combinations, so that way I was still surprised by everything!

But yeah, go crazy at first, you’ll get your heart broken but it’s soooo worth it!

headcanon that Simon and Aura learned Japanese from their mother from an early age and while the household wasn’t quite bilingual, they both have at least a conversational grasp on Japanese. Anyway one of the first Japanese words Simon learned was “taka.”  Every bird was a “taka”.  “Taka taka taka”, says little toddler Simon as he points to robins and finches outside, or a peacock or flamingo in a book. Aura gets annoyed by this one day and decides to teach Simon another way to say “bird” by showing him how to flip the double middle finger.  Convinces him this is sign language for “bird” - or “double bird” which is even better than one bird, isn’t that right, Simon? Simon’s parents do not approve of his newfound acts of wildly swinging around the double middle finger in public every time he sees a family of ducks at the park or a sparrow perching on a branch when they pick him up at preschool. Aura is in deep shit.

aahh I see^^. I have to admit that it’s very hard tho. I can’t duel like this and I haven’t won a single duel...I didn’t play much, I think I prefer the Tag Force games?
