State of the Writing July 2026 + WIP Wednesday
So June was an Interesting (tm) writing month for me.
Since December, I've worked anywhere from A Little to A Lot on my baseball OTP fic every month, making slow but steady progress.
June was the first month this year that I barely worked on said Baseball OTP fic (i did manage on one day, because I felt so itchy about getting back to it) but I did write a boatload of Baseball Yaoi nonetheless (16k+ worth across various WIPs) including one idea that I went start to finish, over 9k in 2 weeks time, which is absurd for me. I'm not directly promoting the fic for Reasons but you can find it on my ao3, copernicusjones. no cw/tw, I guess, except: New York Yankees.
Anyway, the worms for those aforementioned ideas are still wriggling like crazy, and I'll probably cycle through them for the next couple months while also pecking away at the OTP fic.
I also managed to finally! finish my WKRP Andy/Bailey fic, which... is a baseball-related, as it involves them going to a Cincinnati Reds game as a not-date (uh-huh). I'll make a separate post for it, soon, but you can find it here. I started it almost? two years ago and just been at it off and on ever since.
Finally, I signed up for another Rune Factory exchange so that's on the docket too. I can't share too much since it's a Sekrit exchange but lets just say it'll be fun to return to my roots in that fandom.
Anyway, since it's WIP Wednesday, here is a small snippet from The OTP fic which I particularly enjoyed writing. :3
