Jiang Cheng, my dumbass grape son. I adore him. His entire world crashes and burns down around him despite all his best efforts, and it is just very sad and very good for me personally. What can I say, I love suffering and his ugly crying. Him being a prickly well-dressed bitch is I think a very reasonable way for him to be. It is however counterproductive to his brother kidnapping and loving him back goals so I think perhaps he should think about that, you know, if that’s a goal that he wants to continue to have. But how can you not love this dumbass who emotionally hoards objects that remind him of the people he loves because at least the material possessions aren’t prone to lying to him about that time he was knocked unconscious and had nonconsensual surgery and then leaving him in the dust to gallantly save prisoners of war with necromantic magic, subsequently leading to the death of their favorite person in the entire world.
pls never apologize for putting thai dramas on my dash, like I know nothing of what’s going on except I am Looking for these kids’ happy endings and that the gifted(??) is next on my watch list

also YES The Gifted (officially The Gifted: The Series) is a very good show — I’m excited that you’re considering it! I love to see a charming group of superpowered Gen Z student activists taking down corrupt adults ❤ It’s a particularly relevant show too, what with everything that’s going on in Thailand right now — and the world in general tbh. The company that produces the show has all episodes up for free on YouTube with English subs.
(The first season doesn’t have a lot of trigger warnings except for general mystery / thriller stuff + a not-so-great depiction of DID. The second season (The Gifted: Graduation) though... yikes. Be careful lol.)
this is super dumb, but I just imagined a Skywalker family dinner that’s more like a banquet and includes all the droids (bc of course they’re invited and they don’t wanna miss out on the tradition). Luke accidentally drinks from DV-S’s (did I remember that right?) cup and chokes on motor oil. Anakin does the same w Kadee’s expect he doesn’t notice until she pouts at him for stealing her favorite special oil blend. Everything’s chaos and lovely and absolute shenanigans

hello! i had a question for the writer app--how hard is the word limit for the samples? i hate to exceed 3k, but i have a piece thats closer to 3.5k in length--the piece was written for a different mythology zine, so it's right up this project's alley in terms of sample works and i'm loathed not to include it if i can. but i don't want to cause problems either ahadjs >

MilaSara college au where Sara visits her chem prof during a lab for whatever reason and overhears her friend Mila showing her partners pics of her crush and then Sara sees its pictures of her bc I’m flustered rn andndksksjs

“Mila. Mila please, this titration is important can you just––”
“Okay, but look at her eyes? How is it possible for one girl to be so cute? I’m gay.”
“Okay, Mila, we get it now come be gay over here where we’re trying to do the lab.”
“Not letting me gush about my crush is homophobic,” Mila harrumphs. “Chemistry is homophobic.”
“Okay, one, I’m also gay so don’t even start with me,” her lab partner says, “and two did you add the indicator or not?”
Sara hovers right outside the door to the chemistry labs. The door is open and Mila and her partner have a station up towards the front. She doesn’t mean to eavesdrop, just, well––
“So, anyway, yesterday I almost asked her out but––”
“Mila!” her partner yelps. “The acid!”
Sara should have just come in during her professor’s office hours. She shouldn’t have purposefully waited until she knew Mila was in the lab to go talk to the professor about her stupid lab report. Now she’s going to walk into lab–– probably breaking a few safety protocols considering she doesn’t have her lab goggles and she’s wearing open-toed shoes–– and Mila is going to see her and flag her down and Sara is going to need to smile while Mila talks about some other girl.
Well. She’s already here. And she really does need to talk to the professor about her lab report.
The first thing Sara notices when she fully steps through the doorway is that the professor isn’t at his desk towards the back of the lab and is instead hovering over Mila’s shoulder, watching her position the buret carefully.
“Okay, don’t tilt it,” Professor Mendez is saying in her calm, measured voice, “it’s full of acid, so you don’t want to tilt it. Ideally you would clamp it before filling it, but it’s too late for that now, so.”
Mila tongue poking out of her lips in concentration, carefully clamping the buret to the stand. “Sorry, professor.”
“Just do better next time,” Professor Mendez says, “and no phones in class, Babicheva. If you want to tell Tommy about your crush, you’ll have to do it outside of lab.”
Professor Mendez gestures to the bench top, where Mila’s phone is lying in full display. Sara’s instagram is displayed on the screen.
Mila flushes dark enough to match her red hair. Sara represses a yelp.
Her mind is racing. She retreats before anyone can see her, trying to process the information. Crush? Crush. Mila’s crush? Mila... who has a crush on a girl... and was talking to her lab partner about her..? Using Sara’s instagram? Because Sara was friends with Mila’s crush or....
Oh.
Oh.
Sara grins to herself and strides back into the lab. She has a lab report to turn in and a girl to ask out.
